Two dumb Honolulu question.?
1. Is parking at the Ala Moana Mall free or pay.
2. Waikiki seem to have lots of one road streets. How patient are the locals near out-of-towners who are not familiar next to how to get around.

I lived within Hawaii (Honolulu), several years ago.
I can tell you everything is VERY expensive !
The precinct parking is free. And yes, Islanders (not the Japanese), are very tolerant with out of towners. Japanese own pretty much everything contained by Honolulu and are very rude.
Public transportation, however is available and incredibly cheap.
That may be a better bet for you.
Parking at the malls is free. Ala Moana is expensive for stores, but there are some new ones that are nice to go through. Plus trustworthy chains only hold one there.
Yes it can be confusing beside the one way streets but you will soon receive the hang of it. Just remember if you are heading for the mountains you are departing the beach nouns, if you don't see the mtns then you are heading for the beach. Locals are usually staying away from Waikiki or park away from the tourist traffic. You can always park at Ala Moana and amble down to Waikiki or take the bus. Then you don't hold to worry roughly speaking driving. The transit system is really good. I used to pinch it all the time to work, plainly less stressful.
Aloha, peddlepup...you will hold a blast in Hawaii. That shopping precinct has a one-off mix of high fall and not so high terminate places. You will like it. It is interesting and divine. It has 4 floors of cool stuff. You can hike to it from a lot of places. The downtown nouns is not as spread out as L.A. The whole nouns is built for tourists so I don't think you will own any traffic problems.
You should take the submarine trip while you are down within. It is pretty neat...It is not such a honourable area to suspend out late at darkness...but during the day you will chew over you are in some city contained by Asia...
Free parking at the mall. That shopping precinct is extremely crowded and they only own really pricey stores.I recommend driving to the Pearl ridge mall within pearl city.
Waikiki does have seriously of one-way streets but they are very undemanding to navigate!Don't worry roughly it!
