The best deputation is the Annual Halloween Parade in the Village. 6th Avenue get shut down from W. Houston Street all the method up to W. 14th Street and a Parade is held from around 6pm to around 10-11pm.

The biggest Halloween bash in town is the Village Parade that go up Sixth Ave. through the Village up to 23rd St the evening of Oct. 31. It's basically 50,000 culture all contained by costume walking up the street. It starts at 7:00 but draws an enormous crowd (around 2 million) so I'd recommend dressing for the weather and staking out a spot impulsive in front of a dowel (for bathroom and libation breaks). Better yet, wear a costume and be IN the display. Just show up at Sixth Ave. and Spring St. around 7:00 and join the crowd walking up the avenue - it's a hoot.
