I'm relocating to Texas from Michigan, Where is the better place to live? Woodlands, Sugarland, or Clearlake?

Looking for diverse, safe enviornment beside good school. Any suggestions?

I lived within Greenspoint (Gunspoint??) for many years and I found it to be a to a certain extent decent place to live. The traffic routes from here are fabulous and you are on the interstates inside minutes.

My wife (fiancee at the time) lived in Clear Lake and while the Woodlands is the probably one of the safest places to live (barring the institution shooting), the Woodlands fungus wouldn't even grow in a petri dish. I found it somewhat sterile and short in part.

For best overall option, I would pocket Clear Lake: close to downtown (if 30 mins drive can be considered good for Houston), close to NASA and Kemah boardwalk, close to Galveston and Moody Gardens, close to the dogtracks, close to interstate routes so you can attain away from it all.
None of those areas are deeply "diverse" so if that's a criterium I'd look somewhere else.

That being said, they're adjectives good areas beside good school.

Moving to one over the other is a question of employment. You don't want to live contained by the Woodlands and commute to Clear Lake (for example). The distance is over 30 miles and the commute is well over an hour. A polite rule of thumb is to move reasonably in the neighbourhood to where you'll work.
I lived in Houston for 4 years, and North-West (i.e. cypress) be my fave. It was not too busy or too soft. In my opinion, that nouns is close to everything. Give it a shot. The Woodlands though beautiful appeared too whispered, and almost 'scanty'. Clearlake; well, similar to someone mentioned, think almost hurricanes, storms and the like. Sugarland...economically i don't have that much info on sugarland. I regard there are the nice areas and the not so nice areas of sugarland. You've get a lot of answers, that should comfort you in making your ruling. Did I tell you that the Katy/ Mason/Gran Parkway areas are really nice areas to live too? My friends used to live nearby and their kids went to georgeous school.

Good luck in your look into.
how around Pearland just south of Houston. It's the fastest growing city contained by the U.S.
They are also building the second largest mall contained by the U.S
KINGWOOD

But if you must, the Woodlands is the mode to go
If you want nontoxic environment and good school, go to Cuney, or Brazoria. Houston is/has neither one of those things anymore.
Clear Lake have pretty good school. They are Clear Creek ISD, ccisd.net .
The woodlands
I like The Woodlands better because it's north of Houston and contained by the trees. But that's because I grew up wihout trees and love the wooded look. The Woodlands is in Conroe ISD, and the school are excellant.

Clearlake is closer to the water, but The Woodlands is to hand Lake Conroe. However, you have more storms come onshore when you're contained by Clear Lake. Think hurricanes and tropical storms. They will do more damage within Clear Lake than they will further north. Sugarland is nice, but still doesn't have the trees The Woodlands have.
The Woodlands is wonderful, and what they have done building it up within the last 5years have been awesome. They enjoy great schools, dining, malls, bar, entertainment, and its nice and wooded. ClearLake is nice because it is close to the water, so if you delight in boating or jet skiing you are right to go, plus its somewhat closer to Galveston. Where are you working? Or your husband is the bigger issue with the commute...
Clearlake is near NASA and Galveston. I love this place.
I prefer Sugarland it is closer and more inside to Downtown Houston. I have never be to the Woodland but I have singular lived in Houston for 2 years. When me and my husband first moved to Houston we lived out surrounded by Kemah wich is right by Clearlake and I felt close to it was to far from the city, but living on the hose was cool we lived within a water front apartment. The best article to do is rent for a year till you get to know Houston lead to Houston is really big and spread out, there is close to 500 miles of freeway just here contained by Houston. Me and my husband ended moving out to Fortbend County wich is fragment of Sugarland county. Best of luck and the best thing to do is basically search the internet and call for an apartment locater to help you find a protected place cause the inner loop can be material confusing cause you any see real expensive homes and apartment or the hood. So I prefer the suburbs contained by Houston.
Those are all really obedient areas, they are all growing and particularly nice. It just depends on where on earth you want to be, north of houston, east or west. I am near the woodlands and I love it, its the city but still have the country part of it.
We moved from MI to an area outside of Houston contained by Dec 2006. All three places you mentioned are nice and will have clad schools. Another place to look would be the NW side of town towards Cypress or on the west side within and around Katy. They also have well brought-up schools.

This be our plan: figure out where on earth hubby was going to be working (the basis we moved down here), then digit out which schools be good and how far we be willing to own him commute. Commutes through Houston are a royal pain.

Anyhow, the certainty that we were buying a home (instead of renting) swayed us to move where on earth we are now. Houston & most of the communities without beating about the bush surrounding Houston have much greater taxes. You also have to do emission testing for your vehicle (which just ability more $$) and more expensive insurance premiums on both homes & cars.

There are also some neighborhoods IN Houston that are diverse yet enjoy some really good school.

If you'd like anymore info, don't delay to email me through here.
CYPRESS!

ive get family contained by the woodlands .. but ive heard sugarland is really nice too. but im sure you cant jump wrong with clearlake any. all the small towns contained by texas are nice!
The Woodlands..

Southeast Houston..lovely coastal breeze
Sugarland be rated really soaring on the safest place to live, I heard it on the radio later year and it's pretty there.
