How is the cost of living contained by Andover, MA?Compared to the rest of the USA?
My family may be moving to MA contained by or around Andover. Does anyone know how much the cost of living is out there? As far as saloon insurance?Food? etc?
Answers:
Food is almost average - actually because of one of the supermarket chains (MarketBasket - rank tied for No 6 best in the country by Consumer Reports - which positions as Low-prices-without-frills) food prices can be a bit lower (MarketBasket emphasize lobster specials every month or so, by the way - bon appetit!). For more upscale taste greater Boston is also served by Trader Joe's (CR tied for No. 1) stores.
For the rest of the cost of living metro Boston is high, similar to N.Y.C. and San Francisco, and Andover, self a rich town, is at the upper end.
living surrounded by massachusetts alone is expensive. andover is in the north shore nouns which is somewhat expensive. its about 30 mins from boston. (homes are more expensive the closer u live to the boston nouns. andover, ma is a pretty average town so the homes value is probably $370,000 (average)
compared to the USA, overall andover is expensive, as a rule because it is in mass (which is he 5th most expensive state to live surrounded by.
car insurance/food costs are probably average. (the same as the rest of massachusetts)
Andover, MA is one of the most expensive towns to live in surrounded by the state. Even though it isnt too close to Boston. Methuen and Lawrence are cities next door that are MUCH cheaper, but not nearly as nice. The Andover conservatory system is very apt, car insurance is on the cheap side compared to the rest of MA, and it is a terribly safe town. As the other writer mentioned, Market Basket is the best supermarket around as far as prices move about. Overall, MA is a very expensive state to live surrounded by...so be prepared. Hope you're a Sox fan! :)
