I am planning a 7 year trip to Maui contained by May and I be wondering how much I can expect to spend on average?

I dont plan to stay at expensive hotels (I want to spend around $200/night). I just dont know how expensive everything else is (aka food, drinks, activites)

Answers:
I would recommend you stay at Lahaina Shores Beach Resort or Makai Inn. Lahaina Shores is nicer, daily maid service, kitchen, tv, dvd, swimming pool, Ocean Front Views. Close to shopping, right on sand that's great for snorkeling, surfing. Studio Mountain Views are $210/nt and Studio Ocean Front $275/nt. You can get the 7th Night Free.
The Makai Inn runs at $100/nt or more and is enormously basic. No a/c, tv. Mostly in recent times a bed and a room.
For activities, try free things approaching beach, snorkel, Iao Valley-rainforest w/freshwater river, jump off Black Rock contained by Kaanapali, etc. Some people gather on accomodation by camping too, down contained by Thousand Peaks.
Food is expensive. If you have a place close to Lahaina Shores Studio Ocean Front rooms, you can buy food from grocery store, cook it in your kitchen, put away it on lanai(balcony) and watch the most amazing sunsets near the soothing sound of the top crashing on the shore.
Well, good luck on your stay within Maui.
Are you going by yourself? If so, I'd say aloud that you could get by on $100 a daytime. That would include a couple of meals and one credibly priced activity. Obviously, if you be a real penny pincher, you could probably score by for less, but I'm assuming that you want to chomp through reasonably fully clad food and do more than walk around on free beach.
I hold been going to Maui every year for the closing 20 years.
Prices have categorically been going up but that does not close-fisted you can't have a great time at a fair budget. You just hold to know the in and outs. First, stay contained by Kaanapali, it is simply the best location since it is close to Lahaina and the Whaler.

Hotel: $200 could get you a room at Westin Kaanapali (if you book it when they enjoy a special rate) which I think is the best hotel overall base on locations and facility. I have stayed within the last 3 years and hold also stayed at four seasons and Grand Wailea.Westin is a better overall utility, trust me...it is a gorgeous hotel with great spa facility.
If you want to move about really cheap, Kihei has several cheap option or even cheaper is to rent condos or apartment as this would help out also near food cost if you are willing to cook.

Restaurant: What is so great give or take a few food in Maui is that you could find great food from $2 to $150 a personality.
My cheap and great food recommendation surrounded by Lahaina would be:
House of Saimin, Aloha Mixed Plate ($2-8 a person)
My expensive and great food recommendation would be:
David Paul, Mama's fish house, Feast of Lele Luau ($40-150 a person).

Activities: My counsel for activities is to skulk until you get to Maui, seize a bunch of those free magazine (there are like 20 of them) surrounded by the airport and just compare prices.
DO NOT BOOK in a minute, it is much cheaper to book them in Maui.
Must do things within Maui is:
1. Road to Hana: Make sure you get the compact disc so you could get to even non-tourist nouns such as the amazing secluded red sand cove shore (beware nude beach). Road to Hana obviously also features tons of cascade waterfalls, amazing outlook and black sand beach. ($? Car rental, $30 a day+$10 for the CD)
2. Haleakala: The most adjectives is to watch the sunrise on the top and next bike downhill. ($50-100) or horse riding ($75-150)
3. Whale watching: Crazy...last time I go, the boat was stuck for 30 minutes and can't move because whales be breaching all around the boat.but no whale within May, best time is end of December-Mid January. ($15-30)
4. Molokini: Snorkeling for turle ($20-100)
Other notables are noticeably the city of Lahaina itself (free unless you have a wife that loves to shop), Iao needles (free except for the coup¨¦ rental) and the numerous beaches nearby (if you are into nudist beach, check out the "Small beach" right subsequent to the "Big beach").

Do you know that you could actually even manufacture money there? Just attend the abundant offering of timeshare presentation and they will give you up to $400 surrounded by activity credit for respectively presentation you attend.
I attended the westin timeshare once, they gave us $100 spa credit, 50000 starwood points (equivalent to roughly 5 nights stay here so about $1000, and an more free 4 nights stay for the subsequent year. All it took was in the region of 2.5 hours listening to some salesman and entertaining them.
