Opinion: stay by LGA or on Time Square?
We’re going to NY soon. We have an awesome agreement on a really good hotel by the airport ($59 a night…friend surrounded by the business) but the commute to the attractions is usually 30 to 45 minutes. The other option is recompense significantly more to stay where everything is in walking distance.
What would you suggest?
Answers:
$59 dollars a darkness is ridiculously cheap for anywhere, let along New York City. I would recommend staying nearby, you will be able to embezzle a train basically everywhere you want to go, and later walk to masses other places from there.
The hotel may also own other suggestions on how people acquire around who are visiting the nouns. In fact, I believe some hotels even hold deals that would acquire you reduced rates for train or bus fare. This is how many of them produce up for their not-so-advantageous locations.
Good luck!
Gee, I didn't know that the choice be only the airport or Times Square!
NYC is a big city! There are tons of hotels, not of late in Times Square and at the airport. There are lots of hotels and, BTW, lots and lots and LOTS of sights, adjectives over the City!
Personally, if I was coming to NYC, I wouldn't stay surrounded by Times Square (but then, I don't really catch what tourists like around Times Square, anyway.) Try staying in another fragment of town, and then, perchance try SEEING more of NYC than just Times Square.
After adjectives, there really ARE wonderful things to see and do adjectives over this great City. You'll get a really skewed scenery of the City if you only see Times Square!
Oh, and as to the airport, it's no fun staying out at the airport. There's nought you can walk to, and mass transit from Laguardia is lousy!
If the hotel is right by the airport, at hand really is no good public transportation into Manhattan. You can pinch a bus from the airport to the upper east side, however that will take something like an hour and then it's another 1/2 hour till midtown or downtown. The other likelihood is taking a taxi, however that will probably drink up all your nest egg as it's expensive.
If I were you I would stay surrounded by Manhattan.
Having lived right near LGA for several years - I can let somebody know you that the best bet is to just stay surrounded by the city. Depending on where you are in the neighbourhood LGA, public transportation is not going to be very convenient.
It is worth the extra money (if you own it) to stay in Manhattan.
I would stay in Manhattan. There is no subway service to/from the nouns around LGA airport--you will have to amount out the bus schedule or ring up a car everytime you want to gain into Manhattan.
While normally I would recommend the airport substitute ($59 is cheap) in this covering I would say splurge and carry a hotel in Manhattan. Almost every subway splash in the city go through the Times Square area--the convenience alone is worth spending a little more.
There is zilch within walking distance of LGA airport and is not the picture within your head of NYC.
