No, people surrounded by California are not laid back. The occupancy you're looking for is 'accepting'. Californians don't care where on earth you come from, what you wear, or what you do. That is the beauty of the state. You can be of any color, religion, situation, occupation, and people will adopt you the same.

Well, we do like the great outdoors, that's for sure, but we also work massively hard only just like surrounded by any state. It is so expensive to live here, that you do need to label a very right living. But on our days of, watch out, we are doing stuff close to skiing, hiking, swimming, laying around the shore, bicycling, boating, and the list go on.

Like, the people who are close to, natives, like "locals only", ya know, are similar to toally cool and laid back. The ones that move here from other places, are close to, you know, a bit uptight. Yeah. Totally.

i live surrounded by ventura (it kicks *** here)... i also love big sur, yosemite, and i lived within santa cruz for a while and everyone there be SUPER chill... almost a little TOO laid pay for.
you would like to infer so, but honestly some take liberal politics too far, and agency too serious. Also Californians are extremely vain. Of course the most laid back culture also live here. I live here, and I love it.
laid back? simply the rich b*ches (pardon my language). most people are stressed over work or conservatory and the freakin 4lane gridlock not to mention the pressures of being a size 00 and keeping up beside the newest trends which are vertually un-affordable. And politics!!
I think my aunt is a Californian and she is neurotic as hell. I suppose it depends on the individual. Perhaps the L.A. atmosphere makes some relatives laid-back, but it could really well do the contrasting to others. As far as I know, it's just close to any other state, full of different kinds of general public with different kind of personality types.
