Where are the safest parts of San Francisco?
I am thinking about going within on a vacation and I am a short time ago wondering what the safest parts are so I can look for a hotel and not get myself into trouble.
Plus if you hold any comfortable hotels (that are safe of course) that would be drastically helpful.
And finally, is the Castro District (which i've hear is the gay district and that's fine …i'm gay) safe as ably?

Staying around Union sq or Lombard St is pretty safe, in attendance is very few hotels surrounded by castro area, and pretty expensive.

North beach and Pacific height are nice
The Richmond, Sunset, Pacific Heights, Marina, Noe Valley, The Castro, Twin Peaks, Diamond Heights,and Russian Hill are all freakishly undamaging. Every neighborhood is reasonably locked (just don't count your money in the interested and you'll be fine... even if you do, you might get pick-pocketed, but you won't bring shot or stabbed... very little ferocious crime) except for Visitacion Valley, Outer Mission, Bayview/Hunter's Point and all the neighborhoods at southern-most point of the city. Basically, avoid anything South of Cesar Chavez/Army Street and East of Dolores/280. That one nouns isn't the best ever. Everything else is safe. The city have very little furious crime compared to other major cities.
And yes, the Castro is VERY not dangerous. It's also one of the cleanest parts of the city.
Laurel Inn is wonderful, and in a particularly nice and central nouns. Seal Rock Inn is also wonderful... a bit kitschy and 70sish, but very nice, right by the coast, and have a restaurant that makes, approaching, the best omelettes ever.
