Los Angeles - Tijuana?
Hey everyone!!
I'm taking my third trip to Los Angeles in November and I required to do something a little different. I'm going for 8 days adjectives together, and I was wondering how feesable it is to run about 2 days and call round Tijuana?
My worries are:
-Is it safe for two females, 18 and 21 to turn alone?
-Will I be able to see much surrounded by 2 days?
-What are the hostels like, and can anyone recommend one to be precise clean and, dare to dream, cockroach free? We stay at Banana Bungalow contained by West Hollywood whenever I go to L.A. and its fantastic so I'm a bit spoiled in respect to accomodation...
-What is the journey time from L.A. to Tijuana, and what is the best mode of transport?
Thanks so much, assistance would be appreciated.
All the best!

i've lived contained by LA all my enthusiasm and there is no process in hell that i would be in motion to t.j. by myself. even in a group it is risky. be cautious, becasue they will see you coming. there are some desperate inhabitants there and they don't effort about you and will show no remorse.
I instinctively wouldn't wanna waste a trip to LA spending time contained by TJ.its dirty, unsafe, and filled next to horny 18 somethings!
I agree with nearer posters - hang contained by San Diego a couple days...or you can travel a little north and hang down out up in Santa Barbara!
TJ is undamaging as long as you use common sense and stay within the tourist zones, essentially on or around Avenida Revolution. I live in San Diego and own been to TJ plenty of times and w/o any incident; ancestors always claim to hear this and that but from time to time does anything bad come to pass to tourists, just be smart and aware of your surroundings and do not grasp too drunk.
You don't need to spend more than in the future in TJ, it's not the nicest or greatest city but it's fun for a few hours within the day or some clubbing at darkness. I would spend the other day within San Diego.
I'm not sure about the hotels within TJ, there are some nice ones but I would avoid staying contained by TJ. Rosarito probably has nicer hotels to choose from. There are plenty of hotels right across the border you can stay and step into Mexico from, just look for hotels contained by the San Ysidro area close at hand the border. If you don't mind staying farther north in San Diego within are hostels in downtown and within Pacific Beach. Pacific Beach there is a hostel call the Banana Bungalow and it's right on the beach, so you can check that out, it's almost 20-25 miles north of TJ.
LA to TJ is about 3 hours and it's probably easiest and fastest to drive. Or you can filch Amtrak down to downtown San Diego then whip the Trolley down to the border.
Tijuana? What contained by the world have you hear about Tijuana to be precise soooooooo nice that makes you want to stir and spend 2 whole days of your enthusiasm. It's FILTHY even in the tourist areas, it's DANGEROUS even surrounded by the tourist areas, and there is zilch to really see.
All these people are idiots, seriously. Tijuana is faultlessly safe. If something discouraging happens, it will transpire because of bad luck.
Stay away from TJ. It is not undisruptive for anyone much less to childish ladies.
If you have to travel, don't stay overnight in TJ stay contained by CA and take the bus across the border.
If you enjoy mortal spoiled I would stay far away from TJ's. Try San Diego. Tj is not safe for two childlike girls. I would not even recommend a day trip.
take a partially day and see something like going on a tour.
Hmm... I'm sensing a theme here. There are fixed safety concerns for two childish ladies traveling unaccompanied contained by TJ alone.
-Best way to attain there is only to take Amtrak to San Diego, afterwards take the Red Trolley adjectives the way to the border. It literally drops you right rotten at the border.
-Don't spend the night surrounded by TJ. If you must, stay in San Ysidro, on the US side. Better even so, find a nice hostel in San Diego.
-You simply need sooner or later. Cross the border, shop, eat contained by a couple restaurants (DON'T drink any water), and have some fun. You can smoothly walk to the tourist areas, no want for a taxi. (They'll try to lure you into one as soon as you wander across. If you do, negotiate the fare BEFORE you get in).
I am a frequent traveler to the Baja, embezzle my advice and skip T.J. From LA you can give somebody a lift the Greyhound all the track to the border or AMTRAK and then the city bus or trolley. Or park your rental saloon at the border, tell the attendant you'll be gone a couple of days and to please preserve an eye on your car. If you are nice and I don`t know even give your guy a sweet smile and a tip contained by advance he might permit you park your car up front within the VIP (lol) part so he can keep a better eye on it.
Once you cross over the border bridge you'll be within front of the Bus station. Take the bus to Rosarito for a day of swimming , horseback riding, spray skiing or ATV riding. Take a taxi to Puerto Nuevo for a lip-smacking and inexpensive lobster dinner. Roasrito Beach Hotel is a nice happening place to stay. For your second sunshine go to Ensenada, tour the blowhole, shop and pick one of the heaps restaurant's to eat at. Most of the hotels on the prevalent drag are nice and clean. I prefer the Hotel Santo Tomas (I hold no idea in the order of the hostels or if they even have them, I'd fairly pay the money and be secure and sanitary).Stay where the tourist are and don't drink too, too much and turn into the gruesome gringo and you shouldn't have any problems. Have Fun, Lapazn
