Which parts of DC are "good/bad" neighborhoods? SW/SE/NW/NE??
I'm looking to rent an apartment in the nouns. Obviously I will check out the area until that time I rent it, but I was wondering which parts of DC hold lesser or greater crime rates? Which areas would be undamaging or dangerous to pace around in at darkness (I get out postponed from my job)...

I would stay away from SE and NE. There are parts of SW and NW that are well brought-up but there are some shady areas within those districts.
I would feel protected in Tenleytown, Friendship Heights, Cleveland Park, Georgetown (all contained by NW). STAY AWAY from Petworth (NW).
Capitol Hill is probably the safest area within SE.
I like the Capital Hill nouns which is in SE - near are some great houses there that rent rooms or apartments. I'd get hold of a local real estate agent to facilitate you in your apartment force out - it should be free for you and will help you pick a angelic area.
There are good and unpromising parts in respectively quadrant of the city. Some good areas are- NE- brookland, woodridge, michigan and riggs park. SE- property hill, eastern bazaar. SW- L'Enfant/ waterfront. NW- georgetown, downtown, friendship and tenley, upper 16th, cleveland/woodley park, van ness.
For safety sake, NW is your best bet.

similar to Anacostia (bad) is SE.. but Capitol Hill (good) is also located in SE... I would speak get somebody to show you around & recount you about the different parts of the city since choosing :)
