Where is a fitting place surrounded by Chicago to stay at, Cheaper, but not where on earth i will go and get kill?

If you're a student, you can be in motion YMCA. It's pretty cheap and just right within the downtown of Chicago.
just stay on the northside and you'll be sheltered!

We just get back we stayed at Hyatt Place which are suites cost us 75.00 per hours of darkness great place to stay, was located surrounded by itasca. About 25 miles out of city but near airport.
the motels out by mdiway airport are reasonable, and it's onyl in the order of 15-20 minutes to downtown

You will be out of danger and have some money save if you just stay around midway airport. If you are renting a sports car you can save more by traveling to the suburbs, but gas prices might appropriate a bite out of what you save.
what factor of the city will you be visiting? do you own a car or does everything entail to be within walking distance? There are a ton of places to jump but it depends on your needs.
Maybe by midway airport? Or I don`t know Hyde Park? North is going to be expensive. Don't believe the hype about the south side, most culture saying desperate things about it are probably suburbanites who hold never actually travel south of Roosevelt. I travel adjectives around the city. There is good and desperate in adjectives neighborhoods.
Just stay clear of Englewood and you're good :)
