If you freshly want a quick quick look of what each island is approaching, then yes, whip a cruise. If you want to really see Hawaii, pick an island or two (at most) and spend several days there. The cruise lines stop surrounded by the busiest towns on each island because that's where on earth the ports are. Unless you rent a car or book an expensive daytime trip, you won't see any of the island. Many people who cruise are concerned around getting their rental car put money on on time and not missing the ship, so they don't activity far. IMO, that's too bad. But not everyone is like. If you just want to belief the beauty of the islands from afar (like as you're sailing into or out of port) and pick up some fun touristy souvenirs close to where on earth the ship docks, a cruise would probably be a lot of fun.
I live contained by Hawaii & have never experienced a cruise here, but enjoy heard positive things from others who enjoy done so. I think if you hold enjoyed cruises to other destinations, you would probably savour one in Hawaii as all right. But certainly, near are drawbacks as the others have indicated.

When the cruise comes into the port there is a leading rush of people and you back up waiting in dash and swimming at a crowded beach.
