It be the last affray of the War of 1812, the last time America fought the British. The battle actually took place several miles downriver from the heart of New Orleans, surrounded by Chalmette, in St. Bernard Parish. They own a re-enactment of the famous Battle of New Orleans at the Chalmette Battlefield, every year close to or on the anniversary of the final engagement.
