What is it resembling to live surrounded by Connecticut?

I currently live in South Florida and am tired of the scarcity of seasons and also the glorious number of retirees and lack of inhabitants my age. I lived in Chicago, and although I resembling the four seasons, the winter be just too severe. Connecticut seem like an just right place to live, as it has a countrylike consistency and yet is close to Manhattan if you want a predilection of the city and has four consecutive season. Also, unlike many of the New York suburbs (Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Brooklyn) I don't reckon there's much of an accent surrounded by Connecticut. Anyway, I would love to hear from anyone who currently lives there, or have lived there previously and can administer me some insight. Thanks.

CT sucks...its cold and boring
The CT suburbs of NY are pretty expensive - approaching Greenwich. They are not known as self fun - they are bed room communities. The rest of CT is New England - college towns and some ski slopes and stuff like that. Hartford is not discouraging - but not really a destination. Mostly it is a traffic problem for people trying to run somewhere else on 95. I would never move there. Overall, it isn't a bleak state - it is nice. But is really is completely different from south FLA. Chicago is much better.
Well, I enjoy lived in MA, CT and FL (Tampa) Coming from a New Englander i HATE the cold weather. Yes, we enjoy 4 seasons. However, the trees don't really blossom completely w/ flowers until middle of May, and the trees are uncovered by the end of October. It other seems similar to we jump from Winter to Summer w/ a 3 week spring and later from Summer to Winter w/ a 3 week Fall.

I am going back to Tampa within June and I can't wait! :)
I have lived contained by CT since I was six and am presently 23. You are correct there is no gooey accent surrounded by Connecticut and we speak and prounounce things the way they should be pronounced.

The weather plainly is not as severe as in Chicago and you definately can go and get that "country feel" almost anywhere you go. If you are looking to move here West Hatford is probably the nicest, and also most expensive towns because it have everything and is close to Hartford where myself and various others commute to everyday.

I have notice there seem to be a lack of a vibrant nightlife close to in the big cities, but here are plenty of bars surrounded by Hartford. The thing is you enjoy to drive a long way to get hold of to hartford because you definitley don't want to live in Hartford.

I also hold visited Naples Florida on oodles occasions and yes in that are a lot of retirees and too much construction. It feel almost "manufactured" down there and doesn;t surface like it have its own identity whereas CT definitely does.
I love the countryside. Connecticut [i vacationed here, my sister lives there, though] be lovely...but cold. Some towns are bland. Those that aren't are cozy and quaint but enjoy high taxes-if you're liable. : \
Although, I ADORE Nantucket. A bit hard to protract a career in that, not bustling. Peaceful. Just some suggestions. Whatever floats your boat.
