Moving from New orleans to miami for arts school can someone report to me the ups and downs of miami school?

Univ of Miami is very nice (my alma mater) near excellent sports program and a nice student life next to many goings-on...the only other college I can comment on is FIU which is a commuter academy (vast majority of students from south FL) and has restricted student life. The nightlife is second to none within MIA but usually helps to be 21+ or enjoy a fake ID.
With that can, I think you'll be extremely popular.
High school surrounded by Miami is the same as anywhere else surrounded by the USA except most students are bilingual. Most schools are over crowded similar to in every voluminous city. How good a arts school is depends on the area you live contained by but many students excel within bad school too. It's too late to apply to one of the Magnet large schools but if you live surrounded by a nice area you probably will do fine. In spanish in attendance is a saying, "Dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres." Roughly translates to "enlighten me who you hang near and I'll tell you who you are." Keep your feeler clean and you will do fine. Not adjectives HS web sites are up to date but below is a connection for the high school in Miami. It will present you an idea of what the students look close to and what the school offer in sports, extra curr. deeds, academics, etc. Schools contained by Miami are rated A/B/C/D/F (A is the best grade). You want to be surrounded by an A/B/C school but I know of students from C big schools who attend Ivy League school now. You don't want a D or F big school because here could be gangs or other issues close to not enough funding. Your parents can other request a transfer from the district to a better academy (not always easy). Good look and remember within a year it will be over.
