Answers:
The nearest 2 train is at 42nd Street and Broadway, but you don't have to saunter there!
To obtain there, only just take the downtown-bound E train to 42nd Street/Port Authority Bus Terminal, and follow the signs to verbs to the 2. This will involve:
-Go upstairs from the E-train. Make sure the sign doesn't only say-so "Exit," make sure it includes the statue for the 2 train. Whatever you do, don't pass through any turnstile during your verbs at 42nd Street; that means you've not here the system, and you'll have to salary a new $2 fare.
-Follow the signs, chief you to walk down a corridor. You'll overrun the stairway down to the 7 train along the way. Keep going, following the signs for the 2. Make sure you grasp the direction you want (uptown-Bronx/downtown-Brooklyn).
If you are heading to the Bronx, another option would be to stride east for three blocks (Madison, Park and Lexington). Take the #6 uptown at Lexington Avenue (51st Street) for one stop to 59th Street. Get out that station and go downstairs for the #5 train and ride that into the Bronx. Once the train enter the 149th Street/Grand Concourse station, the #2 meets up near it! The last place you can verbs for the #2 is 180th Street, for stations north.
If you are heading to Brooklyn, walk east to the 51st Street station and lug the #6 downtown. At Grand Central, go across the platform for any the #4 or #5 train express. Take that to Brooklyn. You can transfer at the Atlantic Avenue station for the #2
Otherwise, for Manhattan, follow NYC fan's direction.
