How would i get from the bus station on 139 Canal St, New York, NY to Madison Square Garden? I know I would own to take the subway, but which one?

The closest subway stop is going to be the B/D at Grand Street.
From Canal Street - put your foot east to Chrystie Street. The entrance to the subway is at Chrystie and Grand. It can be a little confusing down here, don't be afraid to ask for directions (or print out a map from Google maps until that time you go!)
Take that to 34th Street and later you will just requirement to walk one avenue West to 7th Avenue and the Garden is on 7th between 33rd & 31st. The easiest route to walk over is on 32nd Street.
Most direct style will be taking Brooklyn-bound (N) or (Q) from 34th St-Herald Sq to Canal St, use exit by Lafayette St, walk east toward 139 Canal St at Bowery.
