What are some safe and sound neighborhoods closest to the City of Chicago?

You could win Charles Bronson as your bodyguard.
If you're chitchat about places so close that they if truth be told BORDER Chicago...then your best bet would be these cities on the northside: Skokie, Lincolnwood, Niles and Park Ridge. There are plentiful other safe cities inwardly half an hour of Chicago, but the drive from those cities would be much further. Skokie would be my first choice for you because nearby is even a train, "the skokie swift" that connects to the red line (which go right to downtown). Good luck :)
Chicago itself is comprised of neighborhoods. Do you mean that you do not want to live within any of the Chicago neighborhoods but instead prefer to move to a suburb of Chicago (that is, a town next to or hard by Chicago)? In any case, we requirement your question to be more precise so we can supply you next to good answers! Don't forget to include your interests. Income level might lend a hand, too.

Late add: If you want to move to the Chicago nouns, you might want to note the difference between a neighborhood and a suburb. It appears from your cross-question that you don't understand the difference. Sorry for trying to aid. Sometimes providing a good answer requires a well-phrased quiz, which yours was clearly not.
The neighborhoods near Midway Airport are collectively pretty safe. Like Garfield Ridge and West Lawn.
If you want to be fairly close to the city, look at Park Ridge; as long as price is not a factor and you aren't looking for an apartment. LOL I lived here for most of my 38 years. House prices start in the mid-$300K breadth and go up from within; though you can rent a decent house for $1000-$1200 (and within are a FEW apartment buildings in the community). Out of adjectives the communities that border Chicago, I would say that Park Ridge is the safest; though it does enjoy its share of problems (what town doesn't?), the city works very complex to keep the community as not dangerous and pleasant as possible. Let me know if you have any more question!!
neighborhoods are usually areas within the city, and suburbs are outside.

"Safe" neighborhoods include places similar to Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Lincoln Square on the north side, where I live.

"Safe" suburbs bordering Chicago would include Evanston, Niles, Skokie, Oak Park, Elmwood Park, River Forest; again on the north or west side.

(Safe man a relative term as you would expect, since no place is crime-free.)
