Cali is laid back and reheat NYC is busy and has 4 season. Up state NY is very rural. Vermont is better next both but we are not excepting anymore residents at this time.

I'd prefer California over NY.
overall california is better...there is better weather and disposition, more varied places to live (instead of NY, where on earth it seems resembling its either rural or leading city), and a lot of diverse charge opportunities...approaching technology in the sound area, picture, t.v., and music in L.A., lots of college and universities to choose from if you're a educationalist...I could go on and on! Basically, California could be its own country, its so diverse and big. That's why I would recommend it over NY.
