Why is here even a San Jose category on Y! answers?
Why does San Jose have it's own booth when it's part of the SF Bay Area and question could just be as smoothly asked under SF as here. And look, nearby are hardly any question in here b/c they are adjectives asked in SF, even question about the San Jose nouns. Why don't they have an Orange County article too? Or a New Jersey section? Baltimore? All those places enjoy way more folks than San Jose but they don't get their own category. Do you meditate Yahoo is just biased b/c it's located implicit there? It in recent times doesn't make sense here would be a San Jose category considering all the other metro areas missing on here approaching Minneapolis, Tampa, ect...
Answers:
I guess when Y!answers said San Francisco they meant newly the city of San Francisco
May be they get many requests from San Jose residents and residents around San Jose nouns to open this sub-category. Other culture should request to have their city/metropolitan nouns listed too and may be they will include it.
Btw, an FYI to galaxiquestar: they do hold British, Russian, African, Australian, Greek, Indian and many other cultural items within Yahoo Avatars.
I'm sure because of it's location in Sunnyvale, frequent Yahoo employees live within San Jose and that there probably is a unqualified bias towards San Jose, it is after all, a big division of the Silicon Valley and the technology industry. You notice how caring people are that hold answered your question, but San Jose family have other had an inferiority complex roughly speaking their city, and well they should. I know San Jose associates will want to berate me for saying this, but nearby is nothing to do or see within San Jose from a travel or tourist point of view, it's simply one giant suburb and if it weren't for Yahoo being close to SJ, I'm sure here wouldn't be a San Jose category. And to all the general public that want to suggest the Tech Museum, the Winchester Mystery House or the Sharks, let me repeat myself, at hand is nothing to do or see contained by San Jose. I've lived in the Bay Area most of my life span, and still can't think of one virtuous reason to step there.
because san jose is the tenth biggest city in the nation
and yahoo is base in the silicon gorge
Silicon Valley put San Jose on the map. It's not a one horse town anymore. I moved here to bring away from city life..New York City to be exact. All it did be follow me. I miss the cactus plants on Capital Exp, all those wonderful fruit stands on the side of the road, they're almost non-existent, those nice little shops where on earth everyone knew respectively other. I wish they would enjoy put Silicon Valley somewhere else. Now we have a conglomerate of monopolizing companies taking over everything. That's why San Jose have a category. Thanks to technology, Walmart, Starbucks etc..there making within money, they don't particularly prudence what the people living here want.and some society do like these change, mostly the ones making the almighty dollar...after all, it's "Progress"?
San José is the third largest city in the country's most populated state. It's also the tenth largest city contained by the US, and about 250,000 larger than San Francisco.
It could also be that near are a lot of contributors from San José.
Could it be that the S in San Jose stands for Sun
San Jose is the 3rd largest city contained by California and the 10th largest in the U.S. It's much bigger than adjectives of those other cities. I thinks San Jose have earned it's right to it's own category.
i think so, yepp, they are merely biased.. but hey, san jose is just a cool place, that's why it have its own category..lol
Population 2005: 945,000
3rd largest city surrounded by California
10th largest city in United States
Does anything more really entail to be said? And the population total does not reflect the oodles illegal immigrant
Why are ya hatin'?
Don't sweat it. It's merely bits sitting on a hard drive somewhere. The cost to include SJ is probably less than a dime to Yahoo as far as storage go.
I agree, SJ has little to hold out in the mode of touristy stuff, but it's a major tech destination, so it doesn't hurt to bestow it
I do not live surrounded by the SF Bay Area, I live in San Jose so I am glad that Yahoo have it separate.
It probably has to do next to 1. how many ancestors in San Jose are contained by the yahoo community not to mention the actual population count 2 it is based within Sunnyvale, but go to New York or Texas or New Jersey and speak Sunnyvale, CA and they will have no clue, you say aloud San Jose and they know...thanks to the Sharks. ;)
Oh, I agree there are unconditional biases at Yahoo. I didn't know about it human being based practical San Jose, but I'm not surprised. It's like the stream of Asian backgrounds that showed up within Yahoo Avatars. Why were Asian, extremely Phillipine, clothes and scenes given such a nouns? They certainly aren't doing indistinguishable for Latin American, African or Middle Eastern cultures. I'll bet there are a huge number of Asians working at Yahoo. Just compare the Cinco de Mayo Avatar offerings compared to St. Patrick's Day or even Kwaanza. It's painfully observable where their preferences deceit.
San Jose is well set all over the World because it is the Cyber Space capitol of the World, also set as Silicon Valley. Go on line and look that up and you'll be amazed. There's a Yahoo headquarters freshly a couple miles from my home, along with headquarters from adjectives high tech corporations within the World. Santa Clara county is the second largest county in the state and according to the FBI, SJ is the safest big city within the country. It's also one of the most expensive places to live in the country. Palo Alto (Stanford U) purely down the street, is the most expensive place to live in the country.
