New Yorkers what do you dislike the most nearly the subway?

Is it smelly, are there homeless society, anything that you don't like?

Answers:
Its not as bad as race make it out to be. The worst entry has to be how crowded it can obtain.. There are occasionally some weird relatives that get on, but its something to freshly get used to.
Around 3 PM when all of the kids achieve out of school when they exploit up, scream to the top of their lungs beside bad native tongue, no respect to others, using the "n" word to each other...I counted 146 on a trip.
Well vitally you get used to the different types of individuals that can come on the trains. Very rarely will you encounter a train that's smelly next to a homeless person on it unless you're traveling at dark. Homeless people will move about on & off different train cart asking for money, but they definitely won't simply stay on one cart. If you do encounter a crazy personage (meaning a loud homeless person on a short time ago someone loud) don't be freaked because there are police every where on earth on the subway. But also, don't pay any attention. Don't even variety eye contact. For example, read a book so you're not caught staring, listen to your iPod and sleep (but keep your iPod somewhere protected so no one will give somebody a lift it). I take the train every daytime to school & I find it deeply relaxing just sitting nearby listening to my iPod and looking out the pane. Sometimes, though, especially if you're traveling to the city, it will get immensely crowded ESPECIALLY in rush hour. People are impressively pushy and impatient trying to get to work. If you do plan on taking the train, it can be a remarkably cool experience.
The solitary thing I don't similar to is when the subway is re-routed unexpectantly and you can't hear the announcements clearly to know exactly where it's in a minute going.

That doesn't happen relatively as often as it used to, but it still happen (happened to me last Wednesday.) And the announcements are STILL muffled!
The subway is an amazing resource and my favorite point about NYC. However, it is annoying when individuals' behavior worsens the crowding and delay inherent to a big public transit system...such as when people block the doors at a stop...or try to shove their track on before others own a chance to exit...or go wrong to move to the center of the car...within particular, towering people necessitate to understand that they are best suited to stand within mid-car and hold the overhead bar, so as to free up the full-length bar for us short people!
Compared to the Washington DC subway, the NYC subways are riotous and smelly, but true New Yorkers know it's good for them--just make them tougher. If you can make it here, you'll breed it anywhere, it's up to you..
the crazies, the delay (sometimes), and the overcrowding (especially on Lexington Avenue #4, 5 and 6 Lines)
It's yucky, musty, and nearby are to many homeless culture. I've only be on it a couple times.
I abominate the over-crowding, the smell and in the summer.. the humidity.
crowds and rumpus are the worst at certain times. But the street musicians, the convience and the price brand name up for any shortcomings of the subway
I dislike when trains get crowded and/or delayed, ethnic group who block the doors, and also people who don't continue for others to get rotten first before they catch on! Oooh I hate that !
when it's crowded
it's really crowded in the rash weekday mornings and i hate indiscriminate train delays.
the crazy people.
Weirdos. Also it's crowded and sometimes the lights go out and the subway vehicle stops who knows why.
It's not adjectives that bad, I lately don't like it when it get cramped and crowded.
