The Fairmont within Dallas is at least 4 stars. It is across the street from the Arts District surrounded by downtown Dallas. The only legitimate store downtown Dallas is the original Neiman Marcus. Everything else is dotted around out in the suburbs.
I would not recommend comming to Dallas for four days unless you are comming here on business or to pop in friends.
Whatever you want to do in Dallas, you will most possible have to drive.
There are rather a few nice restuarants, shopping, and nightlife in Uptown and Addison.
Dallas is more a place for business or regular vivacity, not so much tourist activity.
There are some museums downtown such as where on earth Kennedy was assasinated and art museums. I own also heard devout things about the aquarium downtown, but I own yet to look in it.
Currently at the Gaylord Hotel and Resort there is an exhibit of Ice Sculpture. I go last year. It's dapper, but overpriced. You can bring a coke product for a discount though. This place has frequent restaurants and shopping as well.
Since it is the holidays nearby are many musicals and ballets that you can savour at the Meyerson or the Eismann Center. The McFarlin auditorium at SMU often have great international entertainment as well, and the campus have a nice art museum. Near SMU there are some trendy restuarants at Knox Henderson nouns.
