You'll notice that associates are giving you things to do in Southern California. California's a big state, so it depends where on earth you're going to be living.
I'll make clear to you one thing NOT to do within California, and that is to refer to our state as "Cali". Most of us consider that occupancy to be insulting, and offensive. Only out-of-staters, silly teeny bopper girls, and one moron rap singer use it. Do you enjoy any idea what the possession "Cali" actually imply?
don't, move to the great state of TEXAS
Rollerblade on Manhattan beach to Redondo coast !
Lots! We have adjectives the major amusement parks here! Beaches, malls, Skate parks. The club scene is obedient here.

If you're moving here on your own, for college. Don't worry... You'll spawn loads of new pal to hang near.

On weekends, head out of town to San Diego, or up the Central Coast to Solvang, Cambria, Big Sur!

If you're moving near your family. Solvang is an especially great "Family Getaway" for a weekend. That intact area is prearranged as The Santa Ynez Valley and Besides Solvang itself there's nearby Lake Cachuma for watersports and camp. Buellton is a great town too, Los Olivos is where Neverland is located, and Nojoqui Falls (pronounced No-how-wee) cause for an easy trail to see the beautifall waterfall.

Down here contained by my area, Shoreline rural community is a great destination for a date. Rent a surrey (from Wheel Fun) and ride around the village. Then stop for rime cream.. Or better, head over to Tequila Jacks for lunch. Or if it's a house day... Parker's Lighthouse for Sunday Brunch is great!

Orange County is certain as "Entertainment Alley" by us locals. Disney is there. (Downtown Disney charges for parking, but no admission) and is a great place to draw together people and droop out at.

Belmont shore is great too! Especially 2nd Street!

On the Northern end. San Francisco is great too. Lots to explore at hand. Take a Zig Zag drive on Lombard Street. Sausalito is a great peaceful getaway. Alcatraz is within the bay! Hearst Castle is a spectacular daytime out! And for a delightfully TACKY getaway try a hours of darkness at the Madonna Inn... famous for their TACKY but truly unusual rooms! If you're into camp... And even if you're not. Yosemite is bound to take your breath away beside it's beauty!

We enjoy a BIG state! You don't say where on earth you'll be. I'm in Southern CA. But I've tried to record things you can do down here as well as "Up there" and surrounded by the middle too. Hope it helps a bit.
This is just the Top ten register. Paris Hilton, a regular in this forum, have a list of over 100 things to do. SoCal is FUN inner. If you can't find something fun to do every weekend, you really aren't trying:

Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. (Sometimes it seem all at once)

Universal Studios: A subject matter park that grew out of a studio tour. Check out eBay. You can find some discounted tickets there. And Universal City Walk is a fun place to sway out in the evening after your year inside the park.

Hollywood: Hollywood Boulevard is ready for its close-up, gratefulness to years of urban renewal and renovation. Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Mann's Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. I enjoy also added the Hollywood & Highland complex to my top ten list… it has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater (home of the Academy Awards). I close to the El Capitan theater, because it has be restored to its former glory, unlike the Chinese, which was essentially gutted and turned into a multiplex.

Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed beside exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all come to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something.

Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best.
Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performer and tacky shops galore.
Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after night, when it gets a moment or two TOO interesting for my taste. And it's a short bike ride from:

Santa Monica Beach and Pier: Great shoreline scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that have been surrounded by a lot of TV and movies. (The Sting and "Three's Company" come without delay to mind).
After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach.

Santa Monica Third Street Promenade - Downtown Santa Monica's shopping promenade is regularly the scene of movie star-sightings. Just a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier.

Sunset Boulevard: Perhaps one of the world's most top streets, it began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the the deep, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its agency. It makes for a fun drive. Along the bearing, you see a lot of different neighborhoods. Hollywood, West Hollywood, Bel Air, and Pacific Palisades. When you win to the ocean, stop at Gladstone's for Fish.

Queen Mary: Once the largest ship afloat, she's be docked in Long Beach for longer than she sail, and her elegance never fail to impress. Free to visit. You can in fact stay on board, for a price.

Farmers Market and The Grove - A strange shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles sign, The Grove and Farmers Market coexist. Enjoy a movie or shopping, then help yourself to the trolley to the Farmers Market for lunch or dinner.
Farmer's Market is right next to CBS, so hike across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". You might even bring in.

Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage.

Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so pretty that it keeps me fascinated. No business whether you like their art or architecture better (or perchance you'll just savour the view), the Getty is sure to please. Free.

Attend a TV taping - You can find free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It's markedly interesting to see a show being tape. The most popular, by far, is the tonight show. Check the NBC web site for adjectives the details there.

Places to chomp through:
In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone.
Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, only just north of Melrose. Might see a celebrity.
Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. Original location at Beverly & Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown.
Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly & Melrose. Near CBS, might spot a notoriety.
Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station, Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, it’s hot.
