21 yr frail feminine design student moving to San Francisco for an internship. What neighborhood to live within?

Looking for a safe and moderately priced place. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am completely strange with the nouns!

Answers:
Neighborhoods to avoid in jargon of safety are: Tenderloin, Sunnydale, and Hunter's Point. Better neighborhoods include: Sunset, Richmond, Noe Valley, Castro, Twin Peaks, Ingleside, Marina, Russian Hill, Pacific Heighs

Other neighbourhoods can be perfect or a mixture of good and unpromising areas. like, SOMA, Mission, Western Addition, and Haight Street.

That's all great proposal!

You can also try living in some of the towns freshly outside SF and commuting in.

Unfortunately, if you're looking for moderately priced...near aren't any. Welcome to the Bay Area.
