The first 2 weeks of December are an excellent time to visit! If you travel closer to Christmas, you'll be dealing with large crowds and more expensive hotel costs. So definitely consider rash December. It can be quite cool though and the the deep won't be warm ample to swim in. However Disney Resort pools are kept at a balmy 82 degree year round, so you'll still be able to swim if you resembling. If swimming at the beach is a must, and you'd still close to to avoid high crowds, I recommend visit in postponed Sept or early to mid October. The beach are still plenty warm next! My two favorite beaches in close proximity Orlando are Cocoa Beach (approximately 45 minutes from Disney) and Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota (approximately 1 hr 45 minutes south along the I-4 from Disney). If your clan enjoys big breakers and body surfing, etc... I recommend Cocoa. If you prefer a more caribbean feel next to turqiouse water and tranquil waves, I recommend Siesta Key. Both are like mad of fun.
