Well, People other say, born and bred, NY. There is no free lunch, beware of this. Best of luck, be undamaging!
Please bring up to date me that you mean actual artistic style of dance (ballet, jazz).

HOWEVER if you ARE talking roughly speaking topless dancing, yeah near are places in NYC that will pinch any good looking woman on. And yeah, money can be made. Though I wouldn't embark a full time job out of it since once you pass a correct age (probably 35), then you're "wash up".

If topless dancing is what you want to do, next there are strip clubs adjectives over NYC. If you are THAT SMOKING HOT, then conceivably a Scores or Hustler will take you on...and that's the BIG bucks right here.

But if you are about artistic dance, yes that does take a great deal of practice and hard work but eventually you can take home it. I wish you luck contained by that sense.
I really wouldn't do what you are planning. I would not come to New York without any money. Even if you are the luckiest entity in the world and the most amazing dancer, the probability are against you.

Im just assuming that you dont be topless dance: First you should get a opportunity where ever u are and put aside up as much money as you can. Then when u think u hold enough funds, find an apartment beforehand u come to ny. You will need a employment when u get here. If you want to be a dancer, you will own to go on auditions so you will necessitate a flexible job. Maybe waitressing or something resembling that. In my opinion one of the best places to find dance gigs would be backstage. They hold a website and newspaper.

Either bearing, good luck and suppose long and hard until that time u move to a big city like NY next to no money.
What kind of dancer, hold you been permitted by a company or school? New York is a elevated price town it's a good model to have a place to stay (sharing an apartment is a well brought-up idea) before you attain here. Good Luck.
I came to NYC 9 years ago to cause it in theater. I individual had $1000. I didn't know anyone. I get a very cheap hotel room that I rented by the week, and straight away began looking for work. I get a restaurant job, but I did not hold enough money for a deposit on an apartment, so I lived contained by the hotel for three months. Finally I saved ample to get a studio apartment contained by Queens. I started auditioning and did a lot of crap. Though eventually I made friends and instigate working. It will be ten years ago this coming summer, now I live on Park Ave. and hold worked on about eight Broadway shows, a national tour and countless other projects, so at hand you go, you can be unsafe and spontaneous and broke and make it within NY. And I am not blond or tall. :) I don't know where on earth you are coming from, but in NYC you call for a bit of cash to find an apartment, at least possible first and last months rent. I suggest you look on Craigslist for a shared apartment, you will own roomates, but you will have a place. If you can keep on a little longer and bring at lowest possible $2000, you will have a much easier time than I did living surrounded by that roach motel for three months. You also need to be tough, and focused. NYC is a rugged place to move, make sure you enjoy a resume, even for crappy jobs. I don't know if you are a right dancer or not, but I wish you luck. I figure that people might post recounting you that you were crazy to do it, so I thought I'd agree to you know that it can be done. I came alone, everyone thought I be crazy, but I'm so glad I did. Best to you.
Ummm... when you say you want to become a dancer.
Are we chitchat Stripper or Dancer as in Broadway or Ballet?
Because coming to New York short any money trying to become famous is a really, really really desperate idea.
I work contained by New York City and I've been involved next to the entertainment industry, especially theater for a while.
One thing I can convey you for sure: you can't just show up here and expect to start making a living self a dancer. It won't happen.
If you're planning on hiring yourself out as a Gogo dancer to some cheap strip clubs, there's a opening you might find a place to work right away, but as far as serious dancing is concerned -
you necessitate to go to auditions (which don't start all the time, because most places single hire once for the entire season), work your way up...
and you'll necessitate a place to stay (which in itself within an expensive thing).
If you decide that you want to transport the plunge and chance it, my push for would be to save up at lowest possible $3000 as starter capital earlier you come here. This should allow you to find a place to stay and keep you above marine until you find a job.
Expect:
To work contained by a fast food place or someplace else that hires population for short amounts of time until you find some places to audition for.
To go to tons auditions and NOT get any quantity
Read the Village Voice (free entertainment newspaper - comes out every wednesday within NYC)
Go online to places like Broadway.com, Craigslist.org... see if you can find classifieds promotion auditions.
Don't expect:
To show up in New York and find opportunity at every corner.
These days, a lot of nouns in any business depends on insider comprehension, the people you know - and as a newcomer, building that will bear a while.

I'm not saying it can't be done - what I'm relating you is to be careful, cover your support financially and emotionally and work your butt off.
If you're not confidently discouraged by setbacks, you can make it here.

Good luck!
get an agent, a commission and an apartment BEFORE you get here or you'll conclude up on the street working for some pimp.
Don't be implusive. Be patient. NYC is tough. Many ambitious and expert folks here. The competition for artistic jobs is violent, and if you aren't careful, the competition will munch through you. Just plan ahead, move in beside a friend. And take a smaller amount desirable job so you'll hold money to fall put a bet on on when the dancing art hits bumps and dumps.
Stay at home !

Get a work and save for your fare. You will entail something to live on in NY as all right so you need to factor that surrounded by.

Don't leave home minus having made provision for a place to stay even if you own to book in a Youth Hostel. Don't be found roaming the city streets aimlessly, this is when you'll be at risk of falling into the hand of a pimp or worse. Your whole enthusiasm could change within an afternoon to a horror that lasts for years.
Don't do this. The streets are filled next to young those who came to the city beside dreams and no money. They are prey to predators just waiting for inhabitants like that.
If you really want to do this, you call for to save up some money and after get some lead on a job. Be smart around this or it will be the worst thing you own ever done in your existence.
