Oakland Airport Verses SFO?

Recently I flew into Oakland on Southwest and was surprised to see the tentative food concessions. Oakland is becoming a mini SFO.

Oakland Airport has Maxes Eatery, Peets Coffee, Fentons Creamery, CPK, Andale Mexican Food.
Do inhabitants still prefer SFO over Oakland?

All Oakland needs is to enjoy a direct Bart connection. Even though Oakland doesn't hold a direct Bart connection I prefer Oakland for its small size and non-stop Southwest service to Burbank,CA which is not offered at SFO. United offer non-stop servie to Burbank,CA at a cost of $250 round trip. Southwest charges $140 roundtrip from OAK to Burbank.

honestly could protection less give or take a few whether Oakland is becoming little SFO. Tottally could care smaller quantity about their concessions as all right. All are overpriced. I live in Napa and look at Oakland, SFO and sacaramento for prices first. That is what I bed my decision on which airport I will fly out of. There is direct nouns from Oakland to Bart. You can take the Air Bart bus for $3 to the Coliseum station. So I don't know why you don't thnk there is nouns. I prefer oakland if I am taking short flights, or travelling southwest. Southwest does not service SFO.

I prefer SFO to Oakland for trips that require me to travel cross country or internationally.
The only difference between Oakland and SF is that .. Oakland is cheaper and a touch ghetto looking and SF is the opposite.

But they're approaching... the same
I think here are only two reason some people prefer SFO over Oakland. The direct BART nouns and the fear that race have of Oakland.

They're unnerved that if they set one foot into the city someone is going to rob/shank/rape them simultaneously.
I prefer flying out of Oakland, because it is closer to my home (in Concord), and typically flights are cheaper. The downfall for me is that international flights (aside from to Mexico) are almost non-existent at OAK. I in general fly to Europe every year or two. SFO is my only choice.

I am trying something unmarked for my next domestic flight though. I'm going to Phoenix within April. My husband's uncle suggested that we try Allegiant Air out of Stockton. They only own 2 flights a week, but the fare was amazingly low. (Low plenty to not mind the drive to Stockton during commute hour) Also, parking at the airport is free. $233 for 2 people to PHX round trip seem well worth it, considering that as a rule Southwest charges that much for just one ticket. I'm praying that the planes are protected.--By the way, I checked out the aircraft on the Allegiant website, and they are MD80s, not the turbo props I be expecting.
I stir with doesn`t matter what is cheaper and it depends completely. I fly to the bay nouns from Iowa. soooo, it can get pricey!
I have other preferred Oakland airport to San Francisco airport for a number of reason. First, I think Oakland airport is much more convenient to obtain to from most areas of the Bay Area without a unbroken lot of chaos. Next, the parking at Oakland is so much easier, closer to the front door, and within seems to be more spaces available at any given time. San Francisco is so substantial that there is no other choice than to park bad location which gets intensely expensive and time consuming. Also because of Oakland airport's smaller size, it's easier to maneuver around the inside of the airport without getting too lost. Lastly, I find that Oakland airport is across the world more friendly, less of a hassle, and smaller amount expensive to fly out of than San Francisco.

So, my hat tips towards Oakland airport any daylight! Good luck wherever you fly out of!
Well, they both have their pro's and con's. Oakland airport is cheaper, but isn't connected by BART and payment isn't as good. SFO is appropriate for international travel and to big cities and has BART nouns but price is a little superior.

Unless you're using Southwest Airlines, use SFO. For Southwest Airlines, use OAK.
I would rather fly out of SFO because transferring from BART to AirBART (airport bus shuttle) is a hassle and the financial guarantee lines are less simplified at OAK. I also don't feel as not dangerous when I travel alone and have to traverse the rougher/unfamiliar parts of east inlet and I don't mind paying the typically ~$20 difference in fare a short time ago to avoid the aging OAK airport (although the average price difference depends entirely on your destination, so YMMV).

However, price-sensitive customers may find that the budget airlines use OAK instead of SFO because of the cheaper airport fees and it keeps their operating expenses, and for this reason ticket prices, low.

OAK: for price-sensitive travelers who don't mind the transit hassle and budget airlines' limited amenities
SFO: for convenience, updated services, and international travel
