Driving from Las Vegas to Oklahoma?
I plan to make this drive within the next few weeks and hold questions nearly the drive itself..I am a huge baby when it comes to drving within mountainous areas and am wondering how much of the drive is "scary" as far as really high elevation, or steep winding roads also I plan to stop twice so any tips on how to break it up would be great too!!
Answers:
This is a lovely long trip.
Why are you worried nearly steep and winding roads.
Don't you plan on using Interstate 40?
These roads are unforced to drive, not scary at adjectives.
And the traffic in AZ, NM and TX is nil like the interstates contained by Florida or California! You will be fine.
If you are nervous give or take a few driving it really is a great idea to stay on the Interstates. Do it until you are more confident on the roads.
AND hold maps beside you!
To keep moving I'd break the trip up merely in Albuquerque.
That's roughly an 8hr drive from Vegas.
Another 8hour drive will consequently see you in Oklahoma.
You will probably want to break it up next to another overnight stay if you are going further into OK.
Maybe Amarillo in Texas.
Have you see the website MapQuest?
It will give you map, plan your route, provide mileage and driving times.
You can actually type within the departure and destination addresses.
