NYC is great! You should really come and visit it. I suggest you to move about to the Rockefeller Center. It is really cool and fun to be in at hand, you would enjoy the shops, rime skating rink, museums, and the city itself. I also would suggest you to visit Time Square and Broadway Theater. There are awesome areas and places surrounded by New York City. You will love it! Enjoy!
The individual suggestion I have is to plan to spend 2 days at the Met- it is a HUGE museum and you can become tired after walking around for several hours and solely seeing a fraction of what is there. Also, check their website (www.metmuseum.org) for any special exhibitions they are doing, so you come prepared knowing what things you especially want to see here.
The Met is HUGE and can go and get really overwhelming if you try and see it all contained by one day.
(Or you extension up not really seeing everything because you are rushed.)
Definitely plan out the galleries you are most interested surrounded by and see those first. Keep in mind that nearby can often be lines for the special exhibits, and you may call for a special ticket.
Make sure and plan breaks to stop and eat! You don't want to be on the divergent side of the museum as the cafe when you hit that low blood sugar moment of total exhaustion and art overload.
Actually MET can take you more or less 7-days now because right immediately 19 Century and Greek & Roman Paiting, well as African Oceanis Galleries have been expanded.
If you really love art, you should also call on Cloisters Museum, even thought it closed 17:15 every day. When the Holiday falls upon on Major Monday or presidental birthday, simply MET would be open.
If you close to, I could give you tour of entire MET contained by 2 HOURS!!
