Besides the golden takings bridge what else is here to do surrounded by san francisco?
i am going on a short trip there for in recent times a weekend and would like some planning on what else there is to do. any biddable eating places or theatres or something
Answers:
Just sit back and study the freaks. There is no other place that has so tons whacked-out, weirdsexual, crotch grabbing, lesbianized, fried-brained, nozzle marked, freakazoids as SF have. And the best part is that you can scrutinize the show for free.
Vesuvio is a great pole on Jack Kerouac Alley.
HOME is a good restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There are museums, pier 39, Alcatraz, Fishermans Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, North Beach (Italian area), Chinatown, you entitle it.
A nice evening might be to eat at Greens surrounded by Fort Mason Center (with a great view of the GG Bridge), consequently walk over to the Bayfront Theatre (about 20 foot away) for a great night of improv comedy at BATS Improv.
I'd suggest Friday dark, as Saturday Greens has a fixed price collation.

Chinatown - Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Company, and lots of worthy dim sum places on Stockton or Washington, little shops are the best on Grant
Japan Town? - I think they changed it...haven't be recently...
Union Square - shopping!!
Yerba Buena - the big carousel
Metreon - IMAX Theatre
Saint Francis Woods - nice big houses/mansions
Embarcadero - shopping
Fisherman's Wharf - lots of entertainment
Golden Gate Park - Stow Lake where on earth my husband proposed, the little "island" across the bridge, the windmill, buffalos
The Marina - view of Golden Gate Bridge
Coit Tower - panorama of Golden Gate Bridge
Twin Peaks - visit at darkness for a great city view (if it's not foggy)
If it's not too foggy or cold, try the Alcatraz darkness tour...although when I went some friends who be visiting we go when it was foggy and cold...add to the mood a little...hehe
cable vehicle ride, bus tour?
Some elegant/romantic restaurants?? (= expensive dining)
The Cliffhouse - my husband was going to bring me in attendance for our 1st date, but if was so busy that weekend, recently renonvated, food is delicious at Sutros (the other restaurant is Bistro, but not as nice), right along coastline subsequent to Ocean Beach
McCormick and Kuleto's at Ghirardelli Square - good belief of the ocean here too, if you seize a good table, go here for junior prom a long tme ago, salmon was great
Equinox at the top of the Hyatt Regency - 360 level view of the city
Carnelian Room at the top of the Bank of America building - great spectacle of the Bay and the Bay Bridge
Cityscape Bar & Restaurant on top of Hilton San Francisco - my sister recommend this place, great view again
Cheap eat: Chinatown has profoundly...check here for what you like: http://www.sfgate.com/food/bargains/
Have a great trip!
Tons of shopping, tons of great restraunts, Alcatraz, Metreon, Wax Museum, Merry Go Round ride, Ghiradelli Square.
You should take the Blue & Gold Fleet transport to Alcatraz and do the the tour, go to North Beach for a a appropriate Italian meal,
also Mara's is in attendance, they have excellant desserts, for a museum The Palace of Fine Arts, and you can capture 1/2 price day of show arena tickets at the Tix Box Offiice in Union Square.
Or there's Haight Street and Golden Gate Park.
