Whats a righteous thrift shop surrounded by Saint Louis to draw from trendy clothes and shoes?
Shops with abundantly of books would be cool too.
Answers:
Rags-o-rama within the U. City loop is probably your best bet. The rest of the thrift stores are Goodwill or Council for the Blind - not really trendy at all, but they are cheap.
There's also a accurate used book store in the loop close.
Boutique 20th and State East St Louis
The Scholarshop on Clayton Road across from Galleria (among others already mentioned).
Rag-o-Rama in the Loop is probably the best place. I've hear that Plato's Closet is good as all right but I believe Rag-O-Rama is cheaper. I got a couple of Lucky jeans for less than $20 near.
Left Bank Books is probably the best used book store I know of. It is on the corner of Euclid and McPherson in the Central West End. Subterranean Books is close to Rag-o-Rama, so that could be more convenient. However, Subterranean Books is a moment or two confusing because they do not separate their Used and New fiction sections.
Rag O Rama in the U City loop is great. I also get things at Hullabaloo on Washington downtown but this summer they had a closing public sale. Some of the biggest selection is at the Goodwill, Salvation Army and St Vincent DePaul stores on Forest Park Ave close to St. Louis U. although some of the local Goodwills hold good selection too. The one on Olive in the county usually have good shoe screening and the one on South Lindbergh has better clothing. Another find is ValuVillage at 7400 Natural Bridge close to the UMSL campus. They even hold some great sales where on earth you can get oodles of bargains. As beside all of these, it freshly depends on what they have on the light of day that you get here. The two most upscale thrift stores are the one run by the Miriam Foundation on Big Bend.

My favorite way to find trendy stuff is to turn to estate sales or garage sale. I have be amazed at the fun stuff that I've found at them. Whenever I get a great item, I other feel close to I've discovered buried treasure plus its a fun way to spend a few hours on a Saturday morning mart shopping with a friend.
