Rent Prices?
Hi!~ I currently live in Lake Tahoe, NV. I am going to be trying to verbs and do 911 Dispatch in San Francisco, CA. The reimburse is almost double what I currently make and I categorically love the city.. I go within at least 3 times a year. I be curious what kind of rent prices I would income? I would like a fully clad apartment in a devout spot of town. At least 1 bed and 1 hip bath. Any advice on rent and on dispatch at hand would be excellent. Oh, and also, I have a coup¨¦ right now, should I get rid of it before I move, do I really involve it or what? Thanks!

You can find studio apartments for $850-$1000 on Craigslist, but the competition is intense. You have to hold good credit, own a credit report, and be prepared to plunk down $2000 for first/last/deposit to move in.
Avoid listings that say aloud Downtown/Civic/Van Ness, as these are in the Tenderloin, where on earth most studios are. Cheaper n'hoods are the outer sunset/parkside, outer Richmond, and Inner Sunset/UCSF. You might also look into the Presidio, especially if you are coming from Tahoe and like the wooded outdoors.

I agree with the previous posters that you should check out Craigslist. From what I've hear, these days a 1BR is around 1500$ contained by decent parts of town...but sometimes things down as "jr. one bedrooms" offer plenty of space for one character (I used to live in one...method less expensive and I have plenty of space). Depending on what you like, polite parts of town that may be more economical and are still accessible include lower Pac Heights, lower Nob Hill (towards Van Ness, NOT the TenderNob), parts of the Mission, outer Noe Valley, NOPA, inner Sunset, Inner Richmond.
As for the car...if your work is in SF, you should procure rid of it. Getting a place with parking will merely add to your rent, and the public transportation can acquire you all over the place (although you enjoy to exercise patience). Should you need a sports car, we have Zip Car and City Car Share, both super alternatives to owning. You can rent one when you have need of it (even by the hour), and then not hold to worry in the order of finding parking when you get rear legs! If I didn't have a parking space including next to my place, I would have gotten rid of my saloon long ago.
i simply moved here and i was told over and over again i would be spending 1500 a month on a 1br. turns out near a lot of smart penetrating on craigslist and a ton of appointments to look at places there be a lot contained by decent areas (lower nob mount, polk gulch, downtown, etc. ) for 1200-1300 a month. Cars arent needed 90 percent of the time, but they are great for big costco, best buy, or furniture runs. If you bring it expect to park it for away or pay at smallest 250 a month to park it in profusely.
Well, even in the low-income neighborhoods a 1 bedroom apartment will be at lowest possible $1500 (and that is anyone very generous).
I suggest looking within Craigslist (craigslist.org) in the SF Bay Area wedge. You can search for shared apartments or bedrooms, and can also ask for warning.
If you really want to live in the city, the Excelsior district is the best business deal rent-wise. You should also consider living in the periphery of the city, any on the peninsula or the East Bay.
Oh, and about the saloon: I would say maintain it, even though SF parking is heinous. The public transit system is fine if you are living within the city, but since the city is so tiny, you will quality very restricted in the city's limits. Keep the vehicle.
