What's fun to do on December 31 or January 1 that is people friendly?? We live in Doylestown, PA, going on for 45 min from Philadelphia.

THE one and only - Mummer's Parade!
If it doesn't rainfall. If its not too windy or cold.
On New Year's Day, DON'T drive into Philly! Take the train.
AND to really top it sour, you should go to 2nd Street - ["2 Street"] within South Philly! This is where the Mummers unwind and do their own celebrate to bring in the New Year! Its a great time!
