Go to Fremont St. and walk around.
You need to dance at night so you can see the hurricane lantern show. In Vegas if you rent a car, park at Main St Station parking lot, you hold to get the ticket validate at the Casino but that is comfortable to do, just stride across the street and take the ticket to the enclose...once validated you don't hold to stay in the Casino, its a confident walk to Freemont. By the path Freemont is Downtown Las Vegas. Don't try walking it from the Strip.
If you take a hackney carriage its about $20 respectively way from mid-strip, more after 1 can ride in the hackney carriage, so if you are going with a few ancestors you can split the cost.
You can also take the bus its $5 for a 24 hour overhaul...

the bus route is a little slower and can be crowded but its the cheapest if you don't hold a rental car
if you are coming from the strip- fence in the deuce to fremont street and walk along. From dusk til midnght they hold an overhead lightshow in the hour- really apposite you et people dance in the streets, after as soon as its over poof! off into the casinos they move about :)
