What are the denial stereotypes associated near San Francisco?
I'm wondering what the worst things about SF are and what I should thought. I've heard various things...here's the list:
1. Full of limousine liberals...designation people who soak up talking roughly social justice but also hold to go receive there facials and massage every week as well. Basically, I've hear the place is packed next to lots of self-righteous, indulgent "liberals" who enjoy the luxury of ruminating on the horrors of poverty bc they have plenty money to live in an expensive place close to SF.
2. The place is jam-packed with stereotypical, militant gays who soak up going on AIDS walks to bring to the fore awareness about HIV even so go to circuit party every weekend and engage within promiscuous sex.
3. The people collectively frown on organized religion, consider themselves "free thinkers" and superior to anything remotely traditional or mainstream.
4. Lots of smelly, granola crunchy vegans running around.
These are basically some of the negative sterotypes associated beside SF...are they wrong?

100% NON-SENSE ! Sounds resembling something only a wanna-be Nazi neo-con would right to be heard. The people of San Francisco are pretty much matching as in any life-size American city.
Rather than worry nearly what you have hear, why don't you visit our good-looking city and decide for yourself

There are good and bleak people adjectives over the world. Stereotyping and discrimination run hand within hand. You enjoy to choose what is best for yourself. DO what makes you at ease. Live your life for "you"!

You've unsophisticatedly rattled off the discussion points memo on "terrifying, liberal cities." It's the same enumerate of compliants and charges used against all of them. There are too copious gays. The politicians are corrupt. They aren't religious enough. They're tree huggers and PETA boosters. They're hypocritical rich individuals who pretend to care more or less the poor.
These stereotypes work on all left-leaning big cities. It's designed to rile up the heartland against the perceived "arrogance and immorality" of Blue America. It's one and the same fear-mongering the other side uses to stereotype red-states as full of "stupid, inbreed hicks." Neither provides a true picture of life contained by America.
As today is the 6th anniversary of 9-11, I think we want to reflect on why we've fall into old behaviour of attacking each other to some extent than the real threat. It's divisive stuff resembling this that damages us far more than any bomb can.
The gay . . . est city. But on the other hand my favorite belt Metallica has lived within (or still does) and like the city.

There are frequent gay activists contained by town. Nobody "enjoys" going on an AIDS walk, as it's a reminder of how several people hold died or who are infected, and of the lack of awareness and funding for research. Having sex within no way negate the commitment to AIDS awareness.
People do not frown on organized religion per se. There are over 1000 churches and synagogues in the city. You can be religious and still be a "free brain."
We do have some crunchy population. They do not smell.

I live contained by New York City. I went to San Francisco this ancient April.
I can tell you that the ancestors look/act/dress the same track as people within Manhattan. Not much of a difference. Except in SF, they look happeir because they don't hold to deal near hot, humid summers or cold winters.
Stereotypes do exist for a reason but they are also only just stereotypes and a broad generalization base on the most extreme examples. So yes some of those points are true to a certain extent, but the majority of inhabitants tend not to be that bad or close to that at all. Just as not everyone within NYC is rude and in a rush or not everyone surrounded by LA is some plastic wannabe celebrity, not everyone or even the majority of relatives in SF trip up into those stereotypical categories.
The one stereotype that annoys me the most though is the limousine liberal mentality in attendance. For a city that claims to be so socially progressive and aware it has simply as many and more problems than lots other cities. Crime is bad in attendance, the homeless problem is ridiculous, poverty is just as unpromising, affordable housing options are horrible, the infrastructure is not that great, the school aren't any better there, ect...essentially it has alike city/urban problems as anywhere else even though they claim to be "so socially progressive and aware". Eventhough many liberals claim to watchfulness about social cause, studies have shown conservatives, at most minuscule the compassionate conservative types, donate more money and more time to charitable causes than liberals (that's a overview of course). Which makes sense b/c liberals tend to want the govt to pinch care of social problems as anti private charities, which conservatives support more so. Either way it doesn't receive a difference how socially progressive the city or the politicians that run it claim to be b/c the quality of existence there is matching as many other leading cities.
But any city is only as accurate or bad as you engineer of it, so you can easily relish that great city, just forget about the small minority that display some of those stereotpyical SF qualities. As LeAnne said, do what make YOU happy. There are so copious other GREAT qualities in the order of that city and you shouldn't let a few negative ruin it for you, no place is perfect and SF is an amazing and individual city overall.
