Live surrounded by Chicago work surrounded by Woodridge..?

So everyone is telling me to obtain rid of my car.I want to live within Chicago but my job will be contained by Woodridge. Is there public transportation from the city to Woodridge? Is it natural to get rid of my sports car and keep the available job outside Chicago?

I've actually be out there on the train and it's profoundly easier than driving... and cheaper too (about $10 roundtrip on the train). But if you are working out there, you can buy a monthly Metra train ticket and gather a lot of money.
