What is your thought on St. Louis, MO?
I am moving to St. Louis soon and I want to know peoples thoughts on the area. I've be there beforehand but I wasn't around town and everything just taking photographs of the Arch. I moved to California from Pennsylvania 7 months ago and my family and I repugnance it down here so we are afraid of this happening adjectives over again. So please help us out and Thank you for any answers individuals, anything wil help!

I was born and raise in St.Louis but i wouldn't recommend moving within. There is nothing nearby and the school systems suck. I combined the army just to catch away from there. The crime is tremendously bad and near is construction all over the highway. I now live contained by Georgia. I would recommend moving to the Atlanta are, the schools are great and here is always something to do. For you as very well as the kids. It's never to hot or too cold. It may rain comparatively a bit but everything else makes up for the weather. It's a big city so move to the outskirts. The general public show so much southern hospitality. St. Louis is a great place, I am getting ready to move rear there. The summers can be a bit hot and humid. I would suggest living contained by the city or closer suburbs. Most of far St. Louis County and outlaying counties are pretty much an uninteresting desolate tract. Living in dogtown, the intermediate west end, tower grove or areas close to in attendance will put you very close to adjectives of the best of the city: the zoo and other Forest Park attractions, tower grove park, great non-chain restaurants, museums, botanical garden etc. I lived there 14 years and never encounter crime in the city. (I did enjoy my car vandalize several times when I lived in St. Charles county) Once I move vertebrae to St. Louis city, I don't plan to leave again.
St. Louis is not a impossible city and don't believe the "most dangerous" rating. I am far more nervous walking the streets of Detroit than St. Louis. Just resembling every other city in the U.S. it have its good and bleak parts. The area around the ballpark is amazingly nice and being revamped. I hold a brother who lives in Dogtown which is only outside the city center and he absolutely loves it. Even though the city offer some great neighborhoods you want to head the suburbs if you own kids in university (Stay out of North County!) I would recommend going west toward St. Charles. The housing is very affordable and the university systems are great. Definitely try to stay away from HWY 40 as they are doing some massive construction on it over the next few years.
I guess Jimbo is scared of ESL! STL is a Mid Sized city, beside most good paying job already gone or about too. Every week on the report you see major companies departing,closing and no new ones coming surrounded by. The new lofts are man questioned as to if anybody really wishes them.that's because people resembling Jimbo ran away from the city and East ST Louis. White Flight is the legitimate term. So, if you want a appropriate paying job, and restaurants that are not commercially owned,jump to Chicago!
Saint Louis is GREAT! It isn't huge but, since it used to be one of the biggest cities within the US, it has seriously of big city attractions. The city is experiencing a renaissance as well. Many historic neighborhoods, near beautiful dated world brickwork and architecture, are very affordable here. If you hold school aged children, I would recommend enrol them into one of the magnet schools contained by the city or attending a private school, as the regular school in the district are suffering. I would recommend staying out of the outer suburbs, as they are too far from the exciting things going on here surrounded by the city, as well as person cookie cutter plastic boxes and big-box retail outlets. Some of the inner suburbs have excellent academy districts and rich histories. You will really like it here! Hope this help.

These are mostly middle class neighborhoods, some paragraph 8 in some of the areas. Its be a while since I have be there, but I know Hazelwood/Florissant is expanding hurriedly. If you want more country but not too far there is Eureka over by six flags.
I live in St. Charles, it's almost 25 minutes west of downtown on I-70. I grew up there and it's a great place to live. Schools are great, folks are great. Anything and everything you need is contained by St. Charles.
Stay away from East St. Louis, IL, North St. Louis and some parts of North St. Louis County. Your nicest places are St. Charles County, West St. Louis County and South St. Louis County. Any places past those are simply too far out. Or if you want to live in the city, shift wtih South City.
I loved it in that. We lived there for 6 years and I did not want to give up your job, but had for hubby's undertaking.
I would live either surrounded by "West County" - Chesterfield, Creve Couer, or even into Maryland Heights or in St. Charles Co. - (we lived within St. Charles Co. - O'Fallon- because we could get a nice house for what we could afford, it be a great area but a bit of a commute) I would look at university districts - although you may not have kids, it will distribute you a good indication of the nouns. www.greatschools.org
Webster's Grove and Kirkwood are also very nice communities. Almost a "small town" inwardly a town.
St.Louis aint ghetto adequate. come to Detroit.
St Louis is great. the zoo, science center the muny, the art museum, grants smallholding are all free. The are some great museums around town. People are friendly and it is a fun place.
It is not too small or too big.
St. Louis will be like most other cities. There are going to be things you love and things you hatred. It will be up to you to explore and find the things you like to do. Living, stay out contained by the counties. You may also try metro east. You will be in ILL, so you will not hold to pay personal property duty on your vehicles. However, you will be close plenty to take help of everything St. Louis has to extend. Crime is also like any other city. You hold areas that you do not go into after dismal while other areas you can leave your house/car unlock lacking worry. This "most harmful city" rating is a weighted statistic. It uses a per capita rating so larger cities like LA and NY don't top the chronicle every year. I live in a small crop growing community about 30 miles away from St. Louis and I soak up it. The biggest downfall is the 50 mile work commute and the constant layer of bugs on my front grill during summer months.
I live in a residential loft within downtown st.louis and I love it. I moved here from texas and I like it so much better here. The place is renovating the city everywhere right in a minute and it is great to see the city movng forward and gaining population steadily. I haven't see anymore crime here than I saw in texas but I guess I haven't really be to the so called "impossible places," but they are easy to avoid. I hope you resembling it here bc I do.

I strongly believe that St. Louis is underrate by most of the nation. We have honourable neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods much resembling any city you will visit or live surrounded by. Sure, road construction gets on people's nerves, but as respectively project finishes, life get easier in that division of town. We have several emerging neighborhoods as far as living and socializing is concerned. Maplewood, located surrounded by "mid county" is a good place for a young at heart professional. Families can find everything they need contained by south county (10 minutes south of downtown) or northern Jefferson County (20 minutes from down town). Both areas have above average college systems and homes that range from below-average price to all right above the mean. If you are considering relocating and own a potential job surrounded by St. Louis, don't be too quick to exceed up our city.
I don't know much around St. Louis...maybe you should stop by the city and get to know it rather bit.
Are you moving into the City or the surrounding area? I live in close proximity St. Louis. If you are moving into the City it is important what part of a set of the city you are moving to. Soulard (I always own fun there, virtuous bars and restaurants) is one of the nicer areas and south St. Louis seem to be safer also. The areas that are higher within crime are North and East St. Louis (E. STL is across the river in IL) I would STRONGLY recommend a suburb. Any of Saint Louis County is better than the city. West or South county are amazingly nice areas. Depending on how far west of St. Louis you are wanting to go Fenton is give or take a few 20 miles from the City and Eureka is about 30 miles from the city and are both nice areas. Eureka have Six Flags so thats good for the ancestral. Ladue is a very well-heeled neighborhood. Thats really all I can chew over of.
