I live contained by Chicago & my company is moving to Ft. Worth, TX. Just trying to find out some info on the city.?

I am in my 20's and single and my company is moving to Westlake, TX. Just trying to capture some info on the area. Some moral towns to live in around in that. I'm thinking about renting at first. How is traffic and public transportation around nearby, and how far is Dallas? From what I've heard it's a family circle oriented town. Is here much to do for single people? I've never be to this area contained by my life, so roughly any info would be much appreciated!

for a single person, you'll find it pretty nice and comfortable. the weather change fast so be prepared. but, I conjecture you'll enjoy the weather coming from chicago.. anyways, the traffic is disinterested, but it does get a bit heavily built, so try leaving resembling half an hour quicker, just within case. some nice towns to live within would be: Garland, Irving, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Arlington, Denton, Plano, *Ducanville,*Rockwall, *Weatherford, and Mesquite. these towns are all vastly close to Ft.Worth and Dallas. I hope you like it in that and good luck!
powerfully for starters i have lived contained by ft worth and there is alot to do
if you want to rent, own . or lease youll find a home. the nouns is safe. the traffic is not discouraging in most places within less in attendance is a train but thats like that adjectives over tx . if your single go to dallas from time to time its similar to 25 to 35 mins away depending on what part ft worth u live within. towns nere bye u could live in is keller, ft worth , haltom city , norh richland hill, watauga
wow your company is moving into a millionare's neighborhood... I live near Westlake and most home are at smallest a million dollars there, surrounded by other words they're mansions... Traffic is bad, but not Los Angeles bleak... if you like going clubing, after you'll probably drive 20-30min to Dallas, not saying there's none within Ft. Worth, but Dallas has better ones. Ft. Worth may look close to a boring place from a first impression, but as time go on you'll find out new places and you'll appreciate it more here.
brian s - sucks
One of the best things with that portion of Texas, if you can work a schedule specifically a little bad the normal hours, traffic isn't desperate. Plus you're near Dallas museums, opus, symphony, landmarks, restaurants, see tracks (dirt track, drag racing, TX Motorspeedway for NASCAR) etc.
It is esteemed to understand commutes surrounded by TX; if I work late the I can trademark the 27 mile route home from Dallas, in 35 minutes, w/o breaking the speed curb, as there are just 2 lights & 1 Stop sign. At rush hour I take wager on roads, 24 miles, yet still engineer the trip in beneath an hour, sometimes as quick as 45 minutes.
Do rent first, later you can make an informed judgment. A lot of people by little homes on tiny lots because to be precise what they are used to. But in the McKinney nouns, for example, you can get 1,900sf on an acre for around $160k.

Helpful Texas sites below, some of the places are a ways from DFW, close to Galveston at 300 miles, but due to open highway that's only 5-6 hours, most folks focus nothing of making a run resembling that for a 3 or 4 day weekend. Email me any question:

Have lunch or dinner in the revolving restaurant on Reunion Tower
Mesquite Rodeo [inexpensive fun, dutiful food there, move about early]
Medival Times puts on a heck of a show.
Magic Time Machine is the only place I know of where on earth they'll bring you more rolls, to continue a food brawl w/another table

You're moving to a great area & you will find that in attendance is plenty to do & see. Just don't listen to the whiners that complain about everything. I resided here for several years beforehand learning roughly speaking cool things like tubing the Guadalupe, Galveston & the over 100 State Parks! Don't dawdle, enjoy!
I think you will be hugely dissapointed by Ft. Worth , it's a city on the decline near lots of crime . If you have to move here I would suggest the far outlying areas as the rednecks are easier to capture along with than the city folk.

Westlake is sort of Barrington-ish, both surrounded by size, cost, and distance from Dallas. There are lots of affordable housing options surrounded by the area once you draw from about 10 miles from Westlake itself (Hurst / Euless / Bedford, parts of Grapevine, parts of Irving).

Public transportation sucks rocks here. If you're used to Chicago's public transportation, prepare to be disappointed. On the plus side, the roads tend to be somewhat "overbuilt" so traffic isn't slightly as bad as it is contained by Chicago.
