Alcatraz ticket alredy included ferry and tour, because Alcatraz is national park, you can buy it withour audio and other bundle for $18
The tour is in reality quite nice and I notably recommend doing the night time pop in rather than time. There is definitely a different 'feel' when shade.
The audio tour is mandatory. The Angel Island and ranger-led night tours are not compulsory (and costs more).

But you can't buy ferry tickets lacking also paying for the audio tour. Whether you listen to the tape or not is upto you. However, it's certainly quite informative.
