A pious picture of the Pacific from San Francisco?
Just wondering if there are any well-mannered spots to hang out on the coast or as close to it as possible. I dont want a hotel, or a restaurant, just a cool place to drive and park. I own been to Half Moon Bay, but its too far to drive. Anything next to a great view within the evenings, sunsets are the best.

I find Ocean Beach to be the best. Muni take you literally across the street from the beach, if you want to let go gas.
Try going across the Golden Gate bridge, nick the first left. There are plenty of roads where on earth you can just park bad on the side. It is a nice hillside and you can see San Fransisco and the open Pasific.
A small cove called China Beach at the cease of Seacliff Ave.
i know you mentioned you just want the sunset...but you may as capably stop off here for a drink.great scenery
