one word: KENTUCKY.
I live in NKY and deeply of the neighborhoods around here are within 20-30 min. of the city. The school are all extraordinarily good and once you outside of Covington and Newport in attendance is very little crime. The untried Crestview Hills Towne Center has several nice resturants and the brand new trendy outdoor mall. There are plenty of nice golf courses adjoining and the airport is only 10-15 min. Beechwoood is one of the top school in the nouns and the private girls school Villa Madonna Academy is rate in the top ten private school in the country. Cov Cath for boys and Cov Latin for both are also top rate schools.
When we looking to buy our home we be in apartments within West Chester, OH and was competent to get the house we needed almost $40,000. less next what they wanted to build it here or the surrounding area. With that self said, in Ohio in that are several nice suburbs such as West Chester, Mason, Loveland, Milford, Symmes TWP, Montgomery, and Deerfield TWP. All of these suburbs have suitable schools, median to moderate house pricing, low crime and lots of entertainment. Kings island is close to the kids and the average commute is 35-40 min.
Good Luck! We almost moved to Peoria closing year and I know how taxing it is to look to move to a new nouns.

The east side of Cincinnati, just outside the I-275 loop is cool. Some of those areas are call Loveland, Madeira, Blue Ash, Batavia, Milford. I moved to Batavia 2 yrs ago because it is outside the city and much quieter. I am single, but if I had a household I would live in one of these areas. Good Luck

LOL, Uh Oh, Cutie have my number, LOL. You must be from a larger city to be willing to drive 30-60 minutes. 60 minutes is sure on the high side for Cincinnati, and would in reality take you a wearing clothes way out of the city- which, if you are looking for a smaller town and a cheaper cost of living, you might be likely to consider. Nice towns that fall into that category would be Wilmington (50 or so minutes away), and a bonus in that is that its right on Caesar's Creek state park, and Hillsboro (again, a lake community) are the 2 that really pop into my mind. Now- closer contained by, but still more affordable would be towns like Lebanon (I really recommend it- a completely cool, historic town), Maineville, Morrow, Clear Creek Township, and Turtle Creek Township. Now, even closer in, but within general, a bit pricier (and more of your standard suburbs): West Chester, Liberty Township, Deerfield Township, Mason, Loveland, and Fairfield Township would adjectives work for you. Then- if you really want to be in the city, and foot the most for the least house, you've get Blue Ash, Montgomery, Hyde Park, Mariemont, or Glendale that are all nice.
All of the places I enjoy mentioned are within 60 minutes, hold good merits of life (ranging from small town to busier suburbs), and would enjoy houses that fall into your price breadth! Good luck!
