DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS is the slogan you see on highway anti-liter signs. It has nil to do with anyone strong, rough, big, retarded, or changing things as some hold suggested. There are lots and lots of nice people here.

I think it freshly got started somehow as a slogan because it rhymes and it is a catchy phrase. I regard as it means don't sermon badly going on for Texas around Texans. Or it may mean don't mess next to as in - don't progress Texas it is fine the way it is.
