Obviously the second person didn't read the report about "tardy October". Stay out of the water! :) There are tons of things to do within Seattle.
-Take a ferry ride
-Go to the Space Needle
-Go to Pike Place Market
-Go see the Troll beneath the Aurora Bridge
-Take a cruise of the harbor
-Take a cruise on Lake Washington (you get to see Bill Gate's house)
-Go to the Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe
-Stroll the Waterfront
-Go to the Art Museum
-Go to the Outdoor Sculpture Park
-Take the Underground Tour
-Take the Ride the Ducks tour
etc.
On the Oregon Coast, that really depends on what nouns you are staying in. Seaside is a typical tourist town, but you will find profoundly of things closed during the week in the past its sell-by date season.
Near Florence, you can go to the Sea Lion Caves. In Newport, in that is an Aquarium. There are many lighthouses and state parks along the route.
One thing to maintain in mind is that the weather is sensitive of hit or miss that time of year. It could be upper 60's and beautiful, or upper 40's and raining cats and dogs.
"Seattle and along the Oregon Coast"?? Wow, that's a lot of domain. Somebody could write a whole book on things to do within that area. Give us a clue ... what are your interests?
put these on your index:
Rent a surf board/ wetsuits
and go surfing within Ocean Shores.
Take a day wander up Mt. Rainier.
Go up to Vancouver, BC and spend the night up at hand.
Skate around Greenlake.
