I went once as a juvenile (in the 50's) and was wowed! I remember wish it were mine so I could sleep surrounded by a different bedroom every night.
We go again in the tardy 70s-early 80s and the bloom was bad the rose for me, although the kids really liked it. My thoughts? I be really glad that it *wasn't* mine--because of all that housework!
Definitely run once, though. Although expensive now, one trip is worth it.
I haven't be there within awhile, I remember going when I was a kid and crying because I be freaked out. Check it out yourself, Halloween is soon!
I have! But, I go when I was 13, and am 31 presently...so I don't remember a whole lot. It be interesting though, even to a teenager. Like the poster above e said, near are loads of weird architectural things, ie; the staircases, the doors, etc.. The story go that Mrs. Sarah Winchester kept the construction going, for 38 years (literally 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year) because a environment told her that if she kept it going she would live, and if she stopped, she would die. (there is more to the story, but I can't be bothered to type it all lol)

it is truly very worrisome if you are going for the first time. You don't know what's going to happen. It's concerned of haunting. I don't remeber much anymore, but for more information, just call round the website.
The Winchester house is awesome. There is a tour that last about an hour and take you through most of the rooms. In total you walk give or take a few a mile, or so. Be prepared to see Windows in walls, stairways principal to the ceiling, doors leading to no where on earth, etc. There are many divine decorations throughout the house as well. The modern house is not alike size as the original due to a fire that happen many years ago. However, the expirence is still especially worth it. The story behind the house is that Sarah Winchester lost her husband and child at seperate times deeply tragically. She thought that the ghosts of adjectives the people kill by her familie's Winchester rifles were plaguing her. She kept buliding surrounded by her house to confuse the spirits so they would not attack her. They own a behind the scene tour, and every Friday the thirteenth and in October they own flashlight tours. Check out their website for some good photos.
It all depends on your tour guide, some of the guides are boring, and its close to just walking through an outmoded weird house. If you gain a good guide, they will transmit you ghost stories that relatives have experienced, and after its exciting. The house just have an eerie emotion if you are sensitive to that type of stuff. Others don't even get a chill, so it adjectives depends. I say be in motion and experience it for yourself, either process I am sure something there will interest you. :)
