What is a "hostel" Im looking for a hotel contained by West Hollywood and I come across some "hostels"
The prices are between 29-49 bucks a night. but Im wondering, what is a "hostel"? Are they out of danger? clean? Are they approaching a hotel or an inn? Any suggestions?

A hostel is deeply dormitory-style living. There are common areas, some private rooms, some shared rooms, and shared bathrooms. They are collectively cheap, relatively clean, and preferred by traveling students who close to to party.
If you similar to being around fun-loving college-aged students, a hostel is for you.
As for valuables, some hold lockers for valuables. I've heard of some population having stuff stolen, and others hold been fine. Call ahead to see if they own lockers.
Never stayed in one, but I visit one and have spoken to general public who have done it. Most are pretty pleased. Personally, I like a quieter space, but I'm elder than most of the people who stay in that.
They are sort of like a communal hotel room. There may be other culture in like peas in a pod room as you. Usually younger people stay contained by them, college age or so. They are generally verbs, but I would not leave valuables out surrounded by the open. They are fun to stay contained by and you can meet some really cool society.

They usually have lockers as very well to store your stuff in. They arent approaching a hotel or an inn, basically you share a room beside a bunch of other travelers, from 4-12 people. You can usually also capture a private room for cheaper than at a hotel. Bathrooms are communal and down the hall. From my experience, rooms are usually verbs but the bathrooms can tend to get a short time gross. From what I hear the HI hostel in Santa Monica is a really suitable one.
