Here is something for free. Well it used to be anyway. Go to the John Hancock tower. Twice a afternoon there are free tours. You can also travel to the top and walk around the outside. Also the railing at the top of the Prudential building is cool. The restaurant is expensive. The bar is restrained.

pick up a stuff at night magazine from one of the boxes at any subway stop or find an issue of "the bad-mannered bostonian". both have listings of clubs, bar, and dance classes, etc that you can do. there's closely of beaches close to revere, nahant, cohasset, wollaston nearby. or amble down boylston or newbury street for shops and restaurants, bars, etc.
