Yeah, it's pretty out of danger. It's been hipster-fied so the cops come around seriously to check on things...now. There are still a few of the hoary residents still there, so if you aren't urbanized all the same, it could imtimidate you a bit. If you've lived in the big city adjectives your life, no big traffic. There are a bunch of hipster bars, hipster restaurants, hipster shops, etc. It's something like as dangerous as man downtown in the Loop
Wicker Park is inner city urban living. Your question roughly it being sheltered is a tricky one. Although Wicker Park can be considered one of the safest neighborhoods in Chicago it is also surrounded by areas that are not so upright to the west. Crime still happens but not fairly what it was at some point. Overall, locked. Lots of Police presence and young drunk kids..
Yup it's safe and coming up. It's right subsequent to Bucktown which is one of the most happening areas (North ave, Milwaukee & Damen is where on earth it's at).
I live in Chicago, if you own more question contact me through my site http://www.tipsforyourlife.com
It's an up-and-coming neighborhood frequented by childlike professionals. As with any neighborhood, you hold to be careful but it's not similar to some other parts of the city.
I wouldn't say it's up and coming anymore...it is pretty safe and sound, but since it's so active, near are lots of homeless people adjectives over the place. The area by Division is a bit smaller quantity busy than the area by the North/Damen/Milwaukee intersection which is close to the hub for hipsters douche bags surrounded by the area. It can gain a bit loud through the night in attendance, and good luck finding a parking space in a few blocks of your place. The traffic doesn't let up until powerfully into the night.
That said, here are lots of nice restaurants, bars, and little stores within the area, and if you find a place I don`t know two or three blocks away from the busy areas, it's not so bad at adjectives. In fact it's pretty convenient because it's serviced by the Blue Line and Milwaukee bus. AND - you can filch the North Ave bus to all of the shopping on North, Old Town, Lincoln Park, and the water in smaller amount than fifteen minutes.
Depends on how far west on Division, but things are in a minute very developed along Division, principally in and around Damen, where on earth Wicker Park is. Lots of restaurants and shops. Just west of there it get a little more dicey, but the nouns near and east of Damen is safe and sound, even quite nice.
