You want to relocate at North Station not to the Orange Line but instead to the Green Line. You take a Green Line "E" train to Longwood Avenue / Medical Centre or a Green Line D to Longwood. Children's Hospital is a 5 - 7 minute wander from either, located separating.

Please know that you may have to foot a double fare for the "D" but not for the "E" -- I do not know how exactly the new fare structure be done for the "D" but it used to be a single fare outbound and a double fare inbound from Longwood.
I'm guessing that you're trying to take the commuter banister from South Station to what appearrs on a map to be the closest commuter rail station to Children's Hosp. Neither the Ruggles or the Yawkey Stations are anywhere fundamental Children's. As Hank said, the best way to acquire to Children's from North Station is to go tho the North Station T stop. There are Green Line and Orange Line trains within. You would take the Green Line, any the "D" line to the Longwood stop or the"E" procession to the Longwood Medical Area stop. The "E" is your best bet. It's 4 short blocks to the main entrance of the hospital. Although the track work man done on the "D" line is nowhere in close proximity the area, at hand just seem to be fewer "D" trains running right very soon.

The Orange Line doesn't go to South Station. Only the Red Line and the Silver (trackless transit) Line do.
To get to North Station cart the commuter rail to North Station and seize on the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing, and change to the Red Line and it's one stop to South Station

OR

you can win on the Green Line at North Station, go to Park Street and transfer to the Red Line (2 stops to South Station).

If you're going to Ruggles then that's on the Orange Line so simply get on the Orange Line at North Station (going towards Forest Hills) and it go to Ruggles.
