They're other doing construction on old rides and calculation new ones. They do more investigational ones in California Adventure as it is a newer, smaller park.
"imagination never ends" So I should think they may be count and updaing on an ongoing basis.
There aren't any plans or even rumors to add on anything to Disneyland Park.
However, that doesn't preclude the possibility of adding something following.
And they ARE adding Toy Story Mania to California Adventure, where on earth some of the midway games used to be. Perhaps your dad is thinking of that?
To Disneyland itself at hand are no immediate plans to tag on anything new. They hold just open Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage which replaced the old Submarine Voyage. There are like mad of rumors including the Disney Gallery and the old People Mover Track, but to be exact as far as they are currently.
In California Adventure there are several plans to incorporate new attractions. The subsequent attraction to open will be Toy Story Mania, it is planned to open within early 2008, but could be changed if they verbs to have "methodical issues". The next item after to be precise the "World of Color", this is basically a plan for a untried nighttime show around the Paradise Pier area. It is currently programmed for 2009.
In Downtown Disney there are plans for expansion but as near everything else they are really just within the rumor/planning stage.
There is also talk of a "Third Park". However, debate of this have be around for years and will probably not happen anytime soon.
