I am going to Chicago to see the Cubs. I would also close to to see other sites. Any suggestions? Good hotels?
I will be travelling to Chicago with my wife soon. The primary origin is to see the Cubs play. However we would like to see other parts of Chicago during our look in? What places are a Must see.
Secondly, seeing that we are going to see the Cubs I was thinking of a hotel contained by that area. Does anyone own any good suggestions? What around staying in downtown Chicago, is it much more expensive?

I ran across a virtuous website that is geared specifically toward empire going to games at Wrigley: http://www.outoftheballpark.com/featured...
It list a virtuous selection of the bar and restaurants in the nouns, as well as shops. The map will also abet you orient yourself to the area. A great resource. But it doesn't record HALF the stuff in the nouns. When you get here, only walk around the neighborhood and see for yourself. YOu might discover some places you didn't expect, similar to the iO Comedy club, a great places to catch up and coming sketch and improv comedians and a short time ago a few short feet from Wrigley Field.
The website also list a few hotels in the instant area. If you plan on going to several games during your stay here, it's probaby a obedient idea to stay proximate the ballpark.
Staying downtown is ok, but, yes, much more expensive.

Chicago have a varied architectural history range from Gothic to modern, just driving around looking at buildings can be an experience.
The extra money you will spend on a hotel in the city would be cancel out by transportation costs. Parking will kill you and traffic is frustrating, especially if you're not habituated with the nouns. Use public transportation. A hotel on the near north side around Lake Shore Drive would be a biddable location.
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn rear in september. I be there for a Cubs activity and Cowboys bears and this hotel be great for both. The red line train station is right out the front door of the hotel and will whip you directly to wrigley. I would definetly recommend hotel in downtown north of the chicago river anywhere practical michigan ave.
Will you be driving into the city?
I would recommend staying in Downtown. We use Priceline adjectives the time, and choose 4 star hotels. Costs about 65 to 90 dollars usually. Stayed at Swissotel for 65 dollars smaller number than two weeks ago. We actually go downtown for a Cubs game and considered necessary to stay in the City for a darkness (we live 40 miles west of the city).
The reason why I ask if you own a car, is because parking is VERY expensive, especially at hotels. I give attention to they wanted 49 dollars a dark? Cheaper lots can be found close by, but, you're still looking at at least 30 dollars a darkness.
Red line go to Wrigley and only take about 15 minutes from anywhere contained by the loop. The subway stop is less than a block away from Wrigley.
As far as what to do, previous posters enjoy already covered the traditional touristy spots. I would not recommend staying near Wrigley.
